Seven PKK members surrender to Turkey

Seven members of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) have surrendered to Turkey.

Private Cihan news agency reported late on Friday that the PKK members entered into Turkey from Iraq through Habur bordergate in Silopi district of Şırnak province.

Following their interrogation by the local gendarmerie command, they will be referred to a court.

PKK members, who are fighting for autonomy in Turkey from their bases in northern Iraq, have escalated attacks in recent months, killing dozens of members of the security forces and many civilians since July.

Surrender of PKK members came a month after Turkish President Abdullah Gül called on PKK members to lay down their arms and return to their families through benefiting a relevant law.

According to the Repentance Law (Turkish Penal Code [TCK] Law No. 221), PKK members who surrendered to security officers are released -- if their criminal records are found to be clean -- on the basis of having left the terrorist organization without committing any crimes.

Well I AM half turkish and I go to Turkish Annually to visit my Grandmother "Who herself is turkish" there. Sometime I spend up to a month or a month and a half in Turkey so now I can get the idea across but my ability to make a coherent sentence is still lacking.
