Turkish military helicopter shot down by PKK Terrorists

One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter.

Targeting enemy combatants in wartime is not an act of terrorism. That's all that matters.

In this case, the PKK didn't target innocent Turkish civilians.
Oh, I haven't seen this! How disgusting.

It's the ugly truth, though.

These militant groups exist for a reason. As long as the Kurds of Turkey continue to hold legitimate grievances against the Turkish state, the violence and instability will never end.

And this doesn't just apply to Turkey. All other countries in the Middle East face similar dilemmas.

Violence begets more violence. The most sensible thing to do for both parties right now is to return to peace talks.

Al of them are branch organisation of pkk, what are you trying to say? Do you support pkk against erdogan?
I don't support any side in this particular conflict, but I support the Kurdish people's right to self-determination.

Ideally, the Kurds should hold an independence referendum, just like the way it was in Scotland and South Sudan.

You don't support but you do support, that self determination is enough what you are supporting. The Kurds in Turkey are fine, Pkk supporters are not fine. You do now that ther are kurds against kurds in this case?

Yes, just as there are many Turks who are against what Turkey's doing to the Kurds right now.

Anyway, let the Kurds decide their own fate for themselves. Self-determination should be achieved through peaceful means. I do not like this endless violence because it will simply destroy the whole region in the long term, if it hadn't done so already.

The entire region can further fragment for all I care, if that's what the people want.

Let the Kurds decide for themselves. That's the only way the violence in Turkey can end once and for all.

It was an AH-1 P not upgraded. RIP to the killed Pilot Lieutenants.

No, CM aboard. The pilots were sacrificed

The AH-1P was an interim part of a long-term modernization of AH-1Q/S Cobras. It featured an improved, low-reflectivity glass canopy with enhanced crew safety features, as well as state-of-the-art instrumentation and various avionics and drivetrain upgrades. 100 AH-1P Cobras were delivered to the Army between 1977 and 1978.

These are some damn old birds. Whats taking T-129 so long to replace these?
