Oh my. The syrian warfighters would love to put that turret on the back of a Hilux:D. Anyway, impressive platform. Isn't AAA becoming more missiles though instead of bullets?

. . . .
The Tulpas looks, dare I say, SEXY! Marvelous design, very modern looking and from what almighty Wikipedia told me, very capable. Nice to have 400, possibly more of these, in service. Turkey is really going strong huh? Only sad that we didn't have the capabilities to make such vehicles and Altay 20 years ago. Could have sold many thousands abroad. Those days are sadly behind. Damn, even Russia is only purchasing 2300 Armata for itself, and they've one of the biggest mechanized militaries in the world.

But still, awesome to have this in the TSK and to have the industrial capabilities. Who knows, in years to come maybe some African countries become rich and we can sell them a lot of copies.

. . . .
Mass production for whom? TSK did not order any Tulpar yet.
Yes but lets say they make an order of 250 will it be ready for mass production when Altay is?
Or better said how are the testings going on, we already have almost no news about Altay except a picture all 3 months but Tulpar is even more in background.

Guys, you're almost sounding as if Turkey immediately needs them for imminent war. These things take time. I guess the US spent a good decade developing the m1. Sure it was in the 70's and 80's, but Turkey has all the time to get it right. Better to get it right and THEN start mass production, insted of churning out vehicles that need years of change incorporation (looking at you f35 flying prototypes).

Altay's serial production will start by the end of the 2016..approximately 1.5 years from now on. Final prototype is ready and it's going under qualifications tests (maybe last tweaks) before starting the serial production.

Insallah. Yes, from Combat-Master's post that seems very reasonable. Good good good. I'm dying to see more of Altay on youtube. It isn't every day a new MBT is developed (dying to see Armata too actually), but this is home grown tech. Awesome.

Altay, Tulpar and Pars in a row. Now there's a sight.
