Don't wanna sound like a dick but why is our Army still wasting money on these things instead of ordering Kaplan-20 in the APC configuration? Like why are they trying to delay the inevitable. In the time it will take FNSS to modernize the couple hundred ACV-15's they could deliver the same number of Kaplan-20's in APC and IFV configurations. And then to go on and even say they could use Pulat on them, so wasting other resources on outdated equipment?

Either they should come out and say we don't like the options given to us by the Turkish Firms (Kaplan-20/30 and Tulpar) or explain why they rather invest into old equipment millions instead of modernizing the force. These three vehicles have been on the market vor 2+ years now, what is taking so long?

The same for PARS and ARMA, they have been doing tests for years and still no order. I don't understand it, the Air Force and Navy have been taking huge steps in modernizing themselves and the Army is just this stubborn old guy who thinks his car from the 50s is just as safe as an Volvo from 2018.

First it's cheaper and the ACV platform is still relevant for current needs.

This upgrade would cost less than a half million bucks for per vehicle. Seems like government has no money for new vehicles.

So relevant that we are gifting them to rebels. Also no these modernizations will costs in the millions for the same price you can start replacing your outdated equipment. Turkey is going head to head with countries who are rapidly modernizing their armed forces while our Army leadership still thinks its in the cold-war era. This has nothing to do with price nor needs it has to do with stubborness of old leadership not accepting the fact that we are being out modernized by our neighbors.

Then they make no sense either. Those things aren't gonna go head to head with other countries, if you just wanna up the protection against ATGM from pkk slap 2 Pulats on it and call it a day. No need for extensive upgrades which will take the vehicle out of active service for likely months.

Gifting something doesn't man it's irrelevant anymore. Otherwise Half of US assets in ME are irrelevant...
The ACV platform is still enough for current needs, Therefore spending money on a new platform( + everything that goes with it) is "according" to TR unnecessary right now.
ACV modernization aka Buying Kaplan could be done later on in a very short time, when the need/money is available. It's just simple Armored Tracked vehicles... Where hundreds could be made in a year...

that way the money could be redirected in more strategical projects...That "ARE" strategical for TR modernization.

What is outdated exactly, a APC is a APC. Updating is cheaper then buying a new vehicle.

There is no "extensive upgrade" neither. Just few cameras around, one RCSW, few steel plates, one antenna and that's it o_O

What else does it need? A cannon turret? These are mainly for low intensity environments.

Gifting 5 APCs ain’t going to change Turkish inventory, if it means decreasing risk to Turkish troops, let’s gift more.

New armoured vehicles will have indigenous engines.

There will be 6x6 Command & Control, 6x6 Radar, 8x8 Sensor and 8x8 CBRN for Army. Gendarme will get 6x6 IFV.

Some will have 25mm RCWS and other some with 12.7mm RCWS systems.
