Can someone enlighten on this topic that TAI is making its own indigenous F16V upgrade kits? ?? If comes to Fruitation then wouldnt those kits be considered by PAF on all of F16s and uncle sam wouldnt create a big problem when turkey will help us in this case as happened during MLU upgrade?

One of the main component of the of the V-upgrade is the APG-83 SABR radar. It will be far fetched to even think that Turkey can come up with something indigenously that is comparable to the APG-68v(9) let alone the SABR. Also, that is just one aspect of the V-upgrade, which consists of many subsystems that have been used in the 5th Gen F-35.

Kindly share the source of this information that TAI is making its own indigenous F16V upgrade kits ... otherwise ... what you are suggesting is highly unlikely.

No as of now TAI does not posses such capabilities. The biggest hindrance would be the radar and the avionics upgrade that US still hasn't disclosed (as per my sources). If Turkish were able to do that they would have first upgraded their own fleet but since that is not the case PAF at the moment has no chance of getting the V upgrade.

The only airforce as of now is Taiwanese who will get their Blk 20s upgraded to V standards. However one thing to be noted is that despite being a big upgrade the Vs would still be not as capable as Blk60 or the Super Vipers that were offered to India but something in between Blk52 and Blk60.

They are not offering Any upgrade to 52+ yet ... But Aselsan AESA radar for F16 is under development

they might offer an upgrade in future (maybe by 2020)

The Super Viper / Indian Viper / Blk 70 people keep touting is actually Blk62.

For new model F16s we need permission of USA for upgrades. We use our domestics products and monutions like hgk only for modernised F4s and block30 F16s.
We can have domestic radar, mission computers, guided bombs, missiles etc but we cant put it to new F16s without US permission.Thats why we need TFX.

Tesekkurler!! I think this info will relieve many friends in this forum about the future of both F16 and TFX....

Don't show all of your cards that early!! Elhamdulillah, solid sate GaN technology [this is the toughest part] - the building block for high frequency and high power devices - has been mastered by the Turkish folks. It means Turkey now can design and fabricate GaN devices at her own facilities. Once the devices are fabricated then you start building your advanced RADAR etc. systems (both hardware and software) based on the knowledge in electromagnetics, control systems etc. Best engineering minds in Turkey don't write codes forb "social media" (read facebook etc.) nor play in the stocks. They work for the defense companies since this is the most prestigious specially for the fresh grads. Turkish best universities are specifically strong in electromagnetics, and top high school grads join these departments. I hope now dots can be added...

funny that its called indian viper even though india will never buy it
It is called Indian viper becuase US made a technical proposal to Indians.
Why Indians not buying it.... becuase, they are still negotiating.
Why negotiations are taking long.... becuase, Indians are demanding local production, technology transfer and help in development of Teja a/c, plus easy process of work visa for Indians.
BTW... with all above perks, Indians are not willing to pay penny more than $65million / jet.

this discussion has remind me a phrase off Ismail Demir ((TAI), Turkey's chief procurement official ) "We are not dreamers, but we have dreams" . TFX will be a big milestone in Turkish Aerospace Industry and a right step toward self reliance so
i will put my bet on TFX .. .about F-16's most of Turkish F-16's upgrades are provided by the western suppliers therefore it will not be possible for turkey to help Pakistan in providing the upgrade kits.

May the Turkish People accept my heart felt best wishes for their endeavors to attain their future objectives.

If US allowed PAF F-16s to carry Turkish avionics then I am sure PAF will do it ASAP! As then PAF can save a lot of money and save themselves from bureaucratic pressure!

As Avionics are the core part of the any flying machine. Airframe and Engine spares are not a big issue...

F-16 Block 30 fighter are being used as a test-bed for aircraft subsystem developments/upgrades. The name of upgrade program is "Özgür" - "Independent". The project aims to develop a mission computer, later integrate developed sensors and other components into library to announce a total independence on a USA designed aircraft.

F-16 AESA radar will be operational by 2020.
F-16 SAR Pod by 2018.
Electronic Warfare Pod called "FAN16EH" will be operational by 2019.
Two Air to Air Missile project will be operational by 2019.
