Within the scope of the TF-2000 Air Defense Warfare Destroyer project, the lead ship of the class is planned to be taken into the inventory of the Turkish Naval Forces Command in 2027. As a project model, the first ship is planned to be built by the Pendik shipyard command and the other 6 ships are planned to be built by the private sector public / foundation cooperation model as in the İ class. The first 4 ships are expected to be delivered to the Navy by 2030.

The TF-2000 destroyer project is a very special and strategic warship program in itself. Except for the propulsion system, all the systems it carries on it are domestic development programs. In short, the TF-2000 project symbolizes the transition of the Turkish defense industry, to a new phase rather than an only warship program.
