Turkish gas turbine engines to be the main power source for other Muslim states

TEI has achieved great success inside a relatively short time period and TEI-TS-1400 turboshaft engine core turbine is passed the acceptance trials succesfully. 250 TEI engineers have designed it.

TEI-TS-1400 is a 60cm diameter class engine and It will generate a power around 1400 to 1660shp. TEI states that The core section of Ts-1400 will be converted into turbojet, turboprop and turbofan engines when they applied needed modifications for air inlet and exhaust section.

When 60cm diameter class TS-1400 (T700-GE-701 (2000shp) turboshaft engine:66cm diameter) core engine converted into turbofan, Turkiye will have developed a turbofan which has a dry thrust up to 9500lbf. Turboprop variant of TS-1400 core will be integrated on Hürkuş trainers.

70cm (I suppose) diameter class TS-3000 (3000shp) turboshaft engine is under development phase by TEI. TS-3000 will be the main power source of Atak-II and 10+t utility helicopter programs. When TS-3000 core engine is converted into turbofan engine, Turkey will have developed a new jet engine having a dry thrust ratio up to 16500 shp. With afterburners, Thrust of this engine can be increased up to 20000lbf. This modification will allow us to power Hürjet advanced jet trainer and light fighter aircraft.

  • TurboMeca M88-4E (69,5cm inlet diameter): 20000lb (planned)
  • F404-GE-102 (71cm diameter): 18000lbf
  • F404-IN20 (71cm diameter): 19000lbf
  • EJ-200 (80cm diameter): 20000lbf

ITAR free ! You can check the details in previous page. The reason of national gas turbine engine programs are to overcome the restrictions we
have faced in recent years. Although you manage to develop many complete system, You can not rule products If you do not have capacity to develop and produce national propulsion/power plants. Those programs will provide total freedom on export markets.

In additions, TF-X fighter aircraft prototypes are being designed around F110-GE-129 or 132 turbofan engines. This engine has relatively bigger diameter than European rivals so I suppose Turkish national turbofan engine program that is designed to power TF-X fighter will have same diameter not to create additional design work in serial production phase so National Tf-X engine (27000-30000lbf each) will be 118cm diameter class. F22 engines (PW-119) has 116cm inlet diameters and generates around 35000lbf each.

In turbojet engine field, Kale institute was charged to design and develop a turbojet engine called KTJ-32 which will provide a thrust up to 3,2kN. This engine will replace French MicroTurbo TR-40 turbojet engines used on Atmaca anti-ship and SOM cruise missiles. More powerful variant that will be the equivalent of France TR50 is being developed for Gezgin land attack cruise missile (1000+km) program.

Turkey has introduced one of the best weight/performance turbojet motor that was developed for Turkish medium range anti-ship missile program. The engine called TEI-TJ-300 has just ~30kg weight but generates 1300N (400hp) thrust. It was observed that a more powerful turbojet called TE-TJ400 (~1800N) is also under test phase.


TEI completed production of first 5 TEI-T700 turboshaft engine (2000shp). These engines wilk be transfered to TAI for T70 helicopters.

TEI will deliver first TEI-TS1400 turboshaft engine (1600shp) to TUSAŞ in this year. The integration activities of domestic engine for T-625 utility helicopter will commence in this year. Acc to information, Alp aviation is developing and producing gear boxes of TS-1400 engine. T-625 with TS-1400 will be delivered in 29 October 2021.

and Turkey needs to master these to become successful


The actual goal will be implemented when Turkey revealed core turbine of TS-3000 (3000shp) turboshaft engine that is being developed for Atak-2 and 10t utility helicopters at present. When TS-3000 core were converted into Turbofan, It is going to generate 19000-20000lb thrust. That figure equals to the thrust power of Eurojet EJ-200 engines.

During presentation of TEI-TJ-300 engine, A different FADEC display screen spotted on cameras that was written TEI-TJ-400. This programs were reported by a respected author a while ago but This one became the actual proof of ongoing efforts. TEI is developing drone/missile gas turbine engines family having wide range of thrust scale.

Single Crystal gas turbine blade being gifted, of which over hundred have been produced for TS-1400 turbo shaft engine that will power Gokbey and various other helicopters.

Note that the single crystal turbine blades do have integrated cooling vents and are ceramic coated.
