Turkish FM Çavuşoğlu expose Turkey's expanionism.

No, Greece is the party that has tried to expand its borders 3 times since Lausanne.

All three attempts are unilateral enlargements. The first was not objected to with the goodwill by the Turkish side(3mile to 6 mile). However, spoiled Greece blames Turkiye for not getting the same response in the other two expansionism requests.

Greece is trying to increase its waters and airspace unilaterally. Not once but twice. (They does not have the courage to declare the second one yet, it is still at the stage of crying)

And to cover up its own expansionism, it is again Greece that accuses Turkiye of this.
The breadth of Greece’s territorial sea was set at 6 nautical miles from the natural coastline in 1936 (Law 230/1936 as amended by Presidential Decree 187/1973). However, the limit of 10 nautical miles of territorial sea regarding national airspace was explicitly maintained, based on previous legislation (Decree of 6 September 1931 in conjunction with Law 5017/1931).

According to customary international law, which is also codified in the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), Greece has the right to extend its territorial waters to 12 nautical miles.

This right to extend territorial waters to up to 12 nautical miles is a sovereign right which can be unilaterally exercised, and is therefore not subject to any kind of restriction or exception and cannot be disputed by third countries (Article 3 of UNCLOS, which codifies a rule of customary law, does not provide for any restrictions or exceptions with regard to this right). The overwhelming majority of coastal states, except for a few exceptions, have determined the breadth of their territorial sea at 12 nautical miles. Turkey itself has extended its territorial waters to 12 nautical miles in the Black Sea and the Mediterranean already since 1964.

During ratification of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (Law 2321/1995), our country stated explicitly that it reserves the right to exercise this right at any point in time.

In reaction to this legitimate position of Greece, the Turkish National Assembly issued a resolution on 8 June 1995 granting the Turkish government full and perpetual competence to declare war (casus belli) (authorizing it to use military means against Greece), should Greece decide to extend its territorial waters over 6 nautical miles.

This stance on the part of Turkey is a blatant violation of the fundamental principles of the UN Charter on refraining from the threat or use of force (article 2, paragraph 4), on the peaceful resolution of disputes (article 2 paragraph 3) and on good neighbourly relations and peaceful coexistence (Preamble).

Instead of copy-pasting, I recommend that you read the relevant agreements carefully. The rate specified in the relevant contract is the maximum limit, not the minimum. In addition, the concept of open sea is used. Implementing this in inland and congested seas is practically impossible. Because of this, There are also many regions with similar disputes, from the UK to the USA and even to Asian countries. What you are advocating is not a concept that the whole world accepts unconditionally.

You are trying to put Greece's expansionism efforts on a legal basis, but you cannot declare it unilaterally by ignore the national interests of the country, which is the other holder of the region, under any circumstances.

It is Greece that tries to annex countries by issuing military coups.
Because you're talking about Cyprus, first of all,EOKA B in Cyprus launched a coup against Makarios. With some support from the Ioannides junta. However, the one who ended up with their own puppet State in Cyprus, was Turkey.

Turkey was the one that ended up invading, creating a seperate State and ruling it as a satellite.

Enosis, which means union, was the desire of the majority of Greek Cypriots, even during the British rule. There was no "annexation" attempt.

The party that markets its problems to other countries is Greece.
Oh really? Then how come it's Turkey that has interfered in Syria,Iraq,Libya, the Caucasus and ended up being considered a destabilizing factor for the region USA,Russia (partially),many EU countries,Egypt,Israel,Saudi Arabia,UAE and others?

Your problem is that your government keeps talking about legality and "violation of Treaties",while Greece is sticking to the Treaties and agreements. How is it sane,to accuse Greece of expansionism, when at the same time you have top officials of the Turkish State, running around with maps that present half the Aegean, islands and sea together,as part of Turkey?

Why should someone take Turkish claims seriously, when you have a tantrum every time our politicians visit the islands that are close to you, considering that as "provocation",according to Akar and Cavusoglu? It's ridiculous.

Your distraction by confusing topics and concepts shows that you accept Greece's unilateral expansionism and are desperately looking for counter-arguments.

You cannot pass off the thousands of Greek soldiers who went to Cyprus as a simple coup attempt. We both know very well what is tried to done there.

Our presence in Syria and Iraq is based on both agreements and self-defense at the point where state authority is lost. Our presence in Libya is approved by both party today. A few days ago, Akile Salih was in Ankara as the guest of Erdogan, the chairman of the Tobruk parliament. The disagreement with the UAE was due to their support of the military coup. And now relations are getting better than before. Today, we are not the party that invades the maritime jurisdictions of any Arab country, such as Egypt or the UAE, or Libya, or is trying to usurp their assets.

You have to stop looking for the results of Greek expansionism in the arabian deserts or with whataboutism.

Thousands of soldiers went to Cyprus as a coup attempt? And where were those soldiers to fight off the Turkish invasion then? They disappeared? Come on,get serious.

Your imagination produces unilateral expansionism. Greece hasn't been expanding nor tries to create problems. Everything we've done,we've done according to international law. We haven't expanded our naval borders to 12 miles in the Aegean, although we have the right to do so.

Where do you see expansionism? Contrary to your government,we haven't said that Imbros and Tenedos are up for grabs because Turkey isn't respecting the Treaty of Lausanne.

For 60 years everything was ok,then suddenly Turkey started talking about grey zones, demilitarization, disputing the sovereignty of islands, claiming half the Aegean, but sure, let's blame Greece of "expansionism" 🙄

It is better to put the issues one by one, and not all together. Of course, the Turkish tactic is well known, that :" Turkey put a lot of issues in order to win as much as It can."
Already Germany and France understood it.
In any case, let me answer you about the issue of the so-called....Greek expansionism.
You blame us for going from 3 miles to 6.
Why did you go from 3 to 6 in the Aegan and from 3 to 12 miles in Black Sea and in the South Turkey ?

It is Greece that tries to annex countries by issuing military coups.
But the reason for the failure of the annexation was the military coup, because it gave Turkey the excuse to invade.
