May I ask sorry if offensive. Many member in a local forum in my country said about turkish brain drain that can chalanged turkish defense industry (beside many sanction etc)
Are Turkey really have problem about brain drain? In many source said many sceintist and engineer flee from turkey amd stay in brazil qatar etc for better live better payment etc also because current economy or governement?

Btw many media said the program cannot replace many fleeing engineer btw

Btw what is more serious obstacle in local def industry?

In order to clarify the issue in Aselsan's (which is backbone of Turkish Defence Industry) case:
The number of personnel who left Aselsan in 2018 is less than 2% of the total number (6500) of employees. These people are either going to other defense industry companies or SMEs in Turkey or establishing their own business or going abroad. Engineer circulation in technology companies is a natural process and for Aselsan, this figure is below the world average. In 2018, Aselsan hired 1,000 new employees. In addition, if you take into account the intensity of current-future military or civilian projects in Turkey, Aselsan will continue to employ many new personnel for many years. I think that's more or less the case with other defense industry companies in Turkey as well. To summarize, there is nothing to worry about for the Turkish Defence Industry in the short and medium term.

I would also like to add a Turkish proverb for the news of the dogs called western media: "If the dog's prayer was accepted, the bone would fall from the sky."

I recall newspapers reporting that a significant amount of engineers were recruited from European companies, not sure how many left but I remember the reports. While replacing them is possible, training new people takes time and money, but thats the case for every job in every company.

Most of Turkish engineers are young and around 27-30 years old.. they all learned it recently by working on htese projects.. Turkey especially hire extra people as it is cheap to pay salari in Turkish lira, also they have in mind to use those engineers in next projects such as TFX, Hurkush, helicopter , UAV...
Thats why 2% leave is not a big deal..
Also, most of Turks, cannot be happy overseas.. most of them leave just because of economic or polictical situation...
those engineer are payed well so there would be that issue, as even if they get payed way more, they will not be happy much there and i guarantee you that one day they will come back..
On the other hand, if it is political, Turkey look at them the same way, eventually they will get a new experience and come back.. so there is no loose here

I mean I'm pretty sure they earned good money for Turkish levels, but I'm fairly sure they get six figures in many European companies depending on their know-how.

Scientists and Engineers can be replaced but it takes time and the training costs money.

But I'm also sure that when things change these people will come back and bring a new wave of know-how and ideas with them to the industry.

They didnt mention how much it would cost to maintain AH-1Ws which will be freely delivered to philippines. And they also didnt mention that US would be handling the maintenance and plucking money off. Quite an evalutation article totally sided by US and wasnt objective.
On the other hand, it has some good indications about naval compability of AH-1Z (and probably W). Which T129 lacks at demonstration. They might have optimized machinery part according to the salty and humid weather.

Good observation, but we should be worried about not being able to deliver atak or have spare parts. I am being pessimistic but we’re not surrounded by friends who have engines we can use.
