24 F-35 won’t change anything. It will only bankrupt Greece even more. Foregoing the price of maintaining those planes will be as
much as buying them, Greece’s order will be slotted away at the back end of on going orders. Which means they will have to wait 5-6 years to get even all 24 planes as Lockheed is more worried about satisfying costumers with big orders, like Japan, South Korea and the UK.

Neither will those F-16 as the majority will be upgraded in 5-7 years from now.

It’s more a desperate attempt at bribery than anything else.

I’m not even go into detail about the lack of FOC of any F-35 in use atm in the world, the lack of training Greece possess with NG technology, and the time it would take for them to even get ready 12 planes let alone 24 of which only half will be able to fly if not even less.

Nor about how Turkey’s Air Defence Layer will look like on 5-7 years from now. Planes like the F-16 will be lunch for that Layer and any base maintaining highly strategic assets of the enemy will be flattened by Ballistic Missiles as well as Cruise missiles like SOM and Gezgin. For which Greece has no counter against, so again why should Turkey be afraid of a broke country bankrupting itself even more?


Also in the next years the US will be offering the F-35 to Turkey for a very good price.

Turkeys Air Force in the 2030s will consist of F-35A/B-TFX-Göksungur-MIUS.

F-35 will be sitting ducks we better get engines from left and right.. As I said we need preparations for radar traps and so on

We need better rockets and missiles, ranges behind the most distant points in turkey are necessary with 1 ton warheads all the nonsense from ppl saying we don't need this when we have f 16.. Wrong you need both as you need a next gen fighter

If ppl are such in need with F-35 than we should buy russian su 5x 75 jets as air superiority is enough yes we need than turkish subsystems and weapons combined with russian long range missiles that's enough to encounter F-35

Turkey gained a lot of experience in the F-35 project, Turkish companies were involved in many different parts of it.
No time for reverse engineering learning by doing is the way to go.

The F-35 is no doubt a really good aircraft but it‘s not the right aircraft for Turkey. We are a nation that does things the West especially USA doesn‘t like and i personally don‘t want any embargos which could kill the entire Turkish Air Force.
The F-35 is a trojan horse for every nation who is buying them.

you can't reverse engineer something like the f-35, its not that easy, the Chinese have been trying to reverse engineer the su-27, and they still can't figure out how to reverse engineer the engine to be of similar reliability and specs as the Saturn AL-31, despite spending billions.

Reverse engineering is not that simple, as for today F35 have still problems how do you think to resolve that? It is faster and cheaper to design it from scratch.

Turkey focuses on all aspects of it's military industry, not just SAM's. This also includes aviation with Hurkus, Hurjet, improvements on the F16's, 5'th gen fighter jet as well as various helicopter projects.
The roadmap for the industry was formed years ago, and it is starting to bear its fruits. SAM projects (Hisar) started in 2007 according to Wikipedia.

It's ultimate goal is to reach 80%+ indigenous industry with all the strategic components being produced locally, or at the very least have the know-how to produce it locally.
