Turkish Army recovers the WWI headquarters used by Ataturk in Syria

According to state news agency, the last of World War I headquarters used by Ataturk, is now once again under Turkish military control after 100 years. It is said that the headquarters which is located in the Racu region of Afrin, Northern Syria will be renovated and be turned into a museum by the Turkish state.

During the late WWI period, at August 1918 our great leader Ataturk was posted to the region as the commander of 7th Army, fighting the British and their proxies in various parts of Syria. The news state that after the Ottoman withdrawal from Aleppo and due to the hardness of counter-defense against the enemy in Aleppo, Ataturk had established his headquarters in north of Afrin in Racu.

The the recovery of the headquarters is part of the Operation Olive Branch mandate currently being enforced jointly by Turkish forces (Army, Navy, Gendarmerie, National Police) in Syria to wipe off YPG/PKK terrorists in Syria. The Governor's Office in Hatay is tasked with the renovation efforts of the headquarters.

Meaning that Turkey cleaned region from sh!t and is rebuilding for its true owners and tries to be sure no more threat will come from Syrian soil to mainland Turkey. No annexation. There is nothing valuable there for Turkey to annex.

I think Turkey is going to play the balancing factor here. YPG and YKK are being unfairly supported by some NATO members to get a hold of as much geography as possible in that region, essentially creating another destabilizing factor in that region and clearly all regional players are apprehensive abt this move since it is going to delve that region further into chaos

There's a precedent, isn't there? Aren't some Turkish war memorials on Syrian or Iraqi territory? If I recall correctly Turkey worked out agreements that it has sovereignty over them but not the surrounding territory. Can someone check me on this?

Yes, It's true...There is a tomb of Suleyman Shah which is considered Turkish territory but instead of defending it a few years ago Erdoğan's government decided to relocate it and abandon the site. There are rumors about bringing it back to its original place but it's currently held by YPG.

Cant blame Erdo on this, how are you supposed to defend a couple hundred m3 in a different country when isis was invading all the surroundign area? The soldiers there would all be dead if the tomb wasnt relocated.

Syria is unstable right now. As Turkey does not intend to stay in the region, whatever renovation it does to the memorial might not even stay. What is the point then in renovating it when its not in Turkish territory anymore?

And you sir need to learn some manners before talking to random person from friendly nation talking about policies of your government. Anyways i have done my research on Syria. and i know what i am talking about. How TURKISH FSA was formed from Al-Qaeda Offshoots, And how those same people with Green White flags are transformed into police. I am not Commenting about Kurds and what role they are playing. Anti Kurdish operation is understandable but Annexation of a sovereign nation in Full support of a Militant group is not a good precedent for a respectable nation like Turkey.
And reply me only if you can talk with manners and with reasonable logical answers. Avoid Nationalistic Insulting Rants and keep it to your self with most respect.

actually Syrian people are Turkish origin i think, thats why its even better...
Turkey actually wants Mosul and Kerkuk.. other than that doesnt add much to Turkey to play games, but also it will not refuse to have.. thats why it took almost 10 years..
