These appear to be helicopter carriers or Assault ships like the American wasp class... Can they handle the JSF?

There is not a plan to put aircraft on these but if we were to go for a LHD(first design) route then we certainly could. Since those can be modified to carry VTOL aircraft.

The current requirement is as follows

* 4 (four) Landing Craft Mechanics (LCM),
* 27 (twenty seven) Amphibious Assault Vehicles (AAV),
* 2 (two) Landing Craft Personnel Vehicles (LCVP)
* 1 (one) Commander Boat
* 1 (one) RHIB (Rubber Hull Inflated Boat)

when does Turkey plan to retire the phantom ... and with what ?

F-4 2020 terminators will stay around a little longer. We operate 5-6 squadrons currently. 2 Terminator squadrons (54 aircraft total for attack/deepstrike) Two regular F-4E interceptor squadrons(around 70) and 1-2 RF-4 squadrons (not sure the exact number) The F-4 Terminators are highly upgraded with 4th gen avionics/weapons systems so they can stay a little longer. Most likely when the F-35s start to come in the F-4s will begin to retire out. So starting 2015-2020.

Btw the above is a older picture. We no longer run that color scheme but the more modern Grey one. We also had couple hundred F-4s back then most have been retired now.
