Because our combat fleet is now around 450.
We wanted typhoons.. we were really close to get it.
but we saw the specs of f35 and choose to get bigger numbers of f35.
which will replace the old low modified f4's.
and in 2020 if we want to have a major increase for our air force like we do now for navy and army..
we might get a couple squadrons of typhoons.
turkey will have around 600.
the numbers of f35 will be after 5/10years of service around 200. just like f16's.

Jigs.. Do you know our F16's are now loaded with SLAM-ER fire and forget cruise missiles?^^

Yes those are used for a wider application then the AGM-88. They are special purpose weapons based off the Harpoon. For land and sea targets (Generally Antiship.) We also have the AGM-154C JSOW (54) and AGM-154A-1 JSOW (50).
