Turkish air chief arrives in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan

Turkey's air chief Gen. Hasan Kucukakyuz on Wednesday met his Pakistani counterpart in capital Islamabad, an official said.

Kucukakyuz was received by Air Chief Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan at the air force headquarters and presented a guard of honor.

According to a statement issued by Pakistan Air Force, the visiting official laid a wreath at a monument to pay homage to martyrs.

The top officials discussed matters related to regional security and areas of mutual cooperation during the meeting, the statement further said.

Both sides pledged to further cement cordial relations between the two air forces.

In light of this, it would be great if the efforts of that collaboration could be funded with some Qatari money.

Multilateral collaboration on gas turbines/engines, electronics, and munitions would be nice. Of the three, I'd say you couldn't come up with better alignment in needs, but the question of means is a problem.

Ironically, had Pak settled the gas turbine issue 3 decades ago (as you had said), its economic and fiscal woes might not be this bad (or I daresay, may have been good). Ditto can be said for semi-conductors, composites, forging various grades of steel, etc.

Yes the problem is turkey does'nt have a gas-turbine program. I have been to their 'facilities'. So turbines are out w/o the Rus.
Probably we can work with them on Extendable flight control systems, high-end sensors & embedded systems.
