Turkey Stockpiles Crucial Weapons Parts, Anticipating U.S. Sanctions
By Selcan Hacaoglu
July 1, 2019
Turkey, girding for the worst despite encouraging messages from President Donald Trump, has stockpiled crucial spare parts for American-made weapons in case Congress sanctions it over a contentious Russian missile purchase.
It’s unclear when the stockpiling decision was first taken, but Turkish officials say the preparations were made in anticipation of possible U.S. embargoes. The U.S. has been threatening sanctions against Turkey since 2018, after Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan decided to buy the Russian S-400 missile-defense system, a competitor to American-made Patriots.

Is it true that we will not activate it in peace time? Some sources claim that we have an agreement with the USA and not to activate it?

If it's true that's ridiculous and stupid.

When did Turkey sign S400 deal???cz the deliveries look very fast
True. Russia is delivering "fast" probably because this is a sweet chance to penetrate a NATO member materially....i dunno when last Russia had a chance to supply an active NATO member with serious military equipment. Its like a new market in multiple aspects.

What im watching for now is to see if Turkey just wants NATO to make an exception for the S400s or if this is the start of strategic Turkish independence from NATO.

Both, Turkey want's an exception for the S-400 for the time being. If she's satisfied that her membership is valued in NATO that would probably be the end of it.

If she feels that NATO barely tolerates her (S-400 or not) then Turkey will seek the least resistant path for full independence from any group including NATO. This is the current path Turkey is on and frankly it's up to NATO members to change her mind - or not, if they think Turkey isn't valuable enough to be fairly treated.
