What's new

Turkey's only Friend

I will be honest with you, i started thinking differently about Pakistan once i saw how Pakistani state and many Pakistanis on the forum were helping China in covering up the facts about the situation of the Uyghurs in China.

Not that i expected any support in the issue to begin with but seeing how you guys were even helping them in covering up the attrocities was the red line for me.

In short i neither expect support nor a thanks from Pakistan anymore, no offence but this is my honest opinion, i hope this answers the question in your mind.

we are all naked in this bath house is a famous urdu phrase.

regards

Its, you yourself are talking about "Islamic foreign policy".
I wish same for Pakistan, As President Musharraf said, Pakistan First.

Unless you wanna live in the basement and cut yourself off from rest of the world.
I used to be like you.
However Turkey has a huge potential, history and right to lead the Islamic block. I like Erdogan.... to me he is stubborn and has made many mistakes but I do not know the reasons behind his decisions. Turkey needs to show muscles and be at the world stage representative of other Muslim nations.

One thing missing is the nuclear muscle and I sure hope they get it soon.

.
Besides, you know im not exactly known for being a erdogan lover.
Well, I respect him as the president of Turkey, a brotherly nation and this respect for is the Turkish nation as a general so regardless of whoever is the president of Turkey, he will be honoured. Rest I'm not a personal fan of him either.

No, you can call them brother. i don't have any issue, but what's with this "elder" brother thingy?
Elder because our ancesters carried out Khilafat movement n then Khilafat E Usmaniya was way before Pakistan Independence n Modern Turkey too . Kindly dont quote me again if u dont agree . I consider Turkey my Elder brother . Long Live Pakistan Turkey brotherhood n friendship .

.
Pakistani people should stop commenting on Turkish politics. What people don't realize is that the population of Turkey is 50/50 divided between the Kemalist and the AKP.

And Kemalist equates to secularist ideas, yes, but it does not equate to abandonment of allies and support for human rights.

i just pointed out that Kemalist/ultra nationalist foreign Policy would be different from AKP/Erdogan. I never discussed Turkish internal affairs..

who are you ??? i dont care .

Not just him...all Muslim leaders supported China on that issue so why being angry single out Pakistan while your own govt does not see eye to eye with you?
Pakistan welcomes all Turkish brothers but Chinese and Turkish both start trolling each other and things go south very quickly. You will always be welcome here and free to express your opinion fearlessly.
Im not angry at Pakistan, i know everybody silenced it to death and i didnt expect anything else to begin with.
The thing is i didnt expect Pakistan to do or say anything about it either becuase i know the geopolitical situation but Pakistan straight out helping with the cover-up was a big disappointment.

If it were the Saudis then i would just give them the finger and move on but i had brotherly feeling for Pakistan for as long as im interested in politics so the disappointment was quite big, and then the cencorship in PDF started and Pakistani members sided with Chinese stories which made me notice some ground realities.

I dont even know why im telling this, it was not my intention to raise the issue in this forum because its pointless but since you are asking...

Where i said we should cut ties with anyone? i just said that i don't feel as much warmth as other Pakistani do, i feel this is just happening bcoz of Erdogan, if there would have been any different president from Kemalist or other nationalist parties, they would never raised the issue of Kashmir in UNGA.

Plz understand then quote.

Max look at Maulana Diesel.... with agenda and thinking that no one can understands .
We are looking forward to making friendship and brotherhood on strategic issues and common interests not some religious ideology. However being Muslims always is the core of our friendships.
I have a very close friend .... they don’t like the president and over drinking vine sessions ( I don’t touch alcohol) they still praise Pakistan like anything.

This situation is not new for Pakistan. Same happened in Iran Saudia problem. Both kept blasting our cities for years to change side or take one side. But we maintained balance, no matter what. China is like brother, but Turkey is brother. Both are important, and that you can see in these times, when world is against Turkey, we are with Turkey.

Thats also another thing adding to my issue, you can ask any Turk whether secular or religious he would see Pakistanis as brothers because of historical reason not religion.
But i feel like Pakistanis are different in this regard, many currently love Turkey because Erdogan is an islamist.
I encountered enough of them not really liking secular Turks.

Welcome........... in my ignore list..

Even under Kemalist regime, relations remained more than great.

Common error we make is that we attribute the relation to common religion when it's really out there due to historical context, and history is something every one in Turkey, regardless of political alignment, respects.

Hello Xenon, nice to see you around. I am surprised and saddened that you have developed ambigious thoughts about Pakistan on account of the Uighur issue. I always took you as a mature, sophisticated person and not one to make crude abstractions of what are complex matters.

Relations with countries are complex, like any relation and the parties don't have to see eye to eye on everything. Sometimes they may have to agree to disagree. The Uighur issue is complex and I can open another thread to explain to you why Pakistan does what it does and Turkey as a friend ought to understand. Ambivalent policies are part of statecraft and Turkey itself exercises a deft approach to a complicated world.
