A country creates it's own search engine to be able to control users, restrict access whicever website it pleases, to promote websites it wants it be showed first after a search inquary. Since we have google that is doing it's intended job real good, there is no need for geliyoo. If they still go for this i am most definetly sure main use of this search engine is political.

That's not a good thing if it replaces all other search engines by force, that's just to censor more. The masses (especially those without a computer science background) will look at it as a national achievement given the title especially.

^^Virtually all countries around the world have their own search engines, by the way, including Russia, China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, France, Germany, Austria, the United Kingdom, Turkey, India, Spain, etc.

In fact, even stateless peoples such as the Kurds have their own search engines lol.

Nobody's going to force the Turks to use Geliyoo or other Turkish search engines instead of Google, Bing or Yahoo. It's just an alternative search engine that the average Turk can choose to use if he/she wishes to do so.

I personally think it's a great thing. Hopefully they add extra features such as maps and electronic mail in the coming years.

As said before its a google custom search, it literally uses google technology but its bugged, picture and news search doesnt seem to work.
