Turkey’s Growing Military Expeditionary Posture

If Turkey's government really wants legitimacy in the Muslim World, then it would disassociate itself from NATO and the zionist west. The Middle Eastern sheikhdoms
i completely agree, Turkey is setting up to be a powerful Muslim country.....empowered and guided by white Christians..smfh.

When you start so late you have to go through all the steps and the initial stages are the longest. Also we didnt start in 2000, your just seeing the fruits now. Most of those companies set up after 1974 American military sanctions. Its always better late than never.
Your issue was not technology or time- your main ISSUE has probably alwyas been how much military tech US and NATO will either share or provide to Turkey. simple. everything is all semantics and technicalities.

I am a bit confused. Turkey has a Islamic ruling party since Ataturk. Cutting ties with Israel on a low level. Relation to EU and USA/NATO is anything else than suboptimal. For you, it seems not enough .Can you explain what exactly you expect from Turkey?
.
He expects Turkey to be more like Iran I guess. I.e zero positive relations with Israel ,E.U /U.S . So in short an open confrontational/hostile relationship with the West and Israel forgetting it doesn't serve Turkeys interets, but we all know some people think more emotionally than rationally. :D

It's not just about who is in power, the dynamics of Turkish population is almost 100% the exact opposite of the people of Iran as well. Believe me, I can safely say that Turkey will never ever become like Iran. It's quite interesting that there are some people out there who really believe that every muslim country on Earth can be like Iran just because they are both muslim majority... :hitwall: :disagree:

True. I agree. I think it's mostly because most of them in the region tend to be quite emotional when it comes to such topics. Turkey seems to have long passed that stage and moved ahead. Reason the Turks are usually more level headed and rational in their approach towards internal relations and even system.

Why would we have to do anything first of all and second why would we need to gain legitimacy in the Muslim world?

Turkey is a country, a secular country. We do (or did) politics because they serve the interest of the Turkish people, whether they are Muslim, Atheist or Christian - Turk, Kurd or Armenian origin. That's the one thing you should understand. NATO is good for Turkey and we're good to NATO. The west or lets just say the EU is Turkeys biggest trade partner and investor by far. We export most of our goods there and import most of our goods from there. Why on earth would we ever dissassociate us from that?

Not every country can have an Atatürk.

I usually try to stay away from posters like Nasr, my fights with people like you are in my past. But sometimes I cant help myself. I'm an Atheist and frankly think that our current leadership is trash. That being said, is there any country you recall in the so called Muslim world that is more proactive when it comes to Muslim matters?

For all its worth Turkey has good relations with majority Turkic and Muslim countries from Cyprus to Kazakhstan. Only those countries that have their own anti-Turkish agendas or personal beef with Erdogan (not saying Erdogan is innocent) are constantly bickering.

If you are isolated from the world like Iran, you'd only care about what's your legitimacy acc to some people just because they're your lifeline; you cannot stay alive without them. But if your not isolated you do not need to make stupid mistakes like leaving the NATO for that. It's not like the NATO is a christian only alliance, is it? There are other muslim NATO countries as well...

What a nonsense... Shoud we ride camels too, just to ''gain legitimacy in muslim world?''
Turkey is a Secular State, guided not by the religion but positive science. It shouldn't really be so hard to understand. Actually gonna be honest here, when I look all this ''Islamic States'' be it Pakistan or Saudi Arabia or Iran, I don't see any positive aspect. I don't wanna live like them, and I am happy that my nation doesn't have to live like that.
Turkish Nation, men and women deserves to fly, free and independent. We will never tide our nation to the earth with chains.

It's not just about Ataturk, most of the world was either weak or under someone else's rule for the past ~1000 years but we were never conquered, we have thousands of years old governing experience and the memory a.k.a "devlet aklı". You cannot think that a country like (let's say) Kuwait's experience can match that of the UK. We had the Anatolian Seljuks and the Ottomans (I'm not adding the Asian empires) and after that the Republic of Turkey in a millenia when most of the world was conquered by others...

Fact is Turkey does not take on any country that has powerful military. The only countries Turkey has military presence in are Cyprus, Syria, Libya, Somalia, which are among the smallest and weakest in the world.
Same could be said for China as they harass Vietnam or Philippines both states with very limited military

Turkey has a long way to go and is rather late in the game having spent so any decades from 1960s to 2000 just buying equipment

The progress is also painstakingly slow

However there is positives, the electronic warfare section and development in missile technology and also UAV has been the highlights and this is reflected in the exports, naval development is also going well

ASELSAN, ROKETSAN, TAI and STM are clearly the biggest boys in the game

The government needs to invest more in these companies allow them to challenge overseas

by the end of this decade Turkey should surpass the likes of Spain and Italy
The progress is “slow” if you don’t know that Turkey has managed to replace almost all foreign parts in one ship(corvette/frigate) in 15 years
Do you know that Turkey should’ve had by 2021 all submarines they ordered but europeans(germans) want to maintain hopeless artificial balance between the navies of Greece and Turkey
Also turkish navy should’ve had by now all 6 navy AsW helicopters delivered by Italy yet only the first one is ready for final tests...
Despite this the progress continues now when all of these intentionally delayed projects are finished Turkey will gain in a very short time(mid 2020s) massive power in all three branches especially in the navy

It's not an helicopter, it's the ATR-72 MPA aircraft and if my memory serves me right; I belive the number was seven instead. And there're almost ready for delivery after 15 fuckib years...

Yeah probably I gave wrong number but the point still stands(deliberate delays by europeans for maintaining unrealistic so called balance in the aegean/eastmed)

Thank you for your assessment, vindicates what I have said in the past, I rest my case!!
