Turkish National Defense Ministry and ASELSAN struck a deal worth of $71 m on Air Defense Radar, KALKAN, purchase, state TV said.

Following a series of laboratory and field tests the machine made it to the inventory of Turkish Armed Forces.

With its high-tech antenna, improved hardware and signal processing infrastructure the radar can make a 3-D search and detection of all kinds of air targets like helicopters, planes, drones, and missiles.

KALKAN makes an automatic classification of the data it recieves and refers them to the command control systems.

Thanks to the KALKAN project, ASELSAN earned the experience and infrastructure to develop land, air, and naval radars for all kinds of ranges and tasks.

.
Pakistan was in this field before Turkey with Kamra, and now it has fallen behind. Pakistan is not even close to making its own radar.

. .
When the subject became critical technologies like radars, Western countries and USA never approach to give technology to another countries or exporting restricted versions of their radar systems so Aselsan and ODTU university have performed a detail work to develop Radar technologies and They have managed... "Kalkan" radar has tracked an aircraft with a range from 70km accurately in Anatolian Eagle 2008 exercises... After Kalkan Early Warning radar program, We are going to see more critical and longer range radar systems developed by Aselsan-ODTU...

Next ones will be;
-MMW radar Meteksan (2010-11)
-Fire Control Radar for air defence programs (2012)
-Naval 3D radar for Milgem and TF-100 Frigates(2011)
-Tiha SAR Radar (2011)
-Satellite SAR radar (2014)
-Multi-purpose phased Array radar for TF-2000 and AEW&C platforms(2016)...

^^Exactly that's why we need brothers like turkey to share with us.sell us these technologies.Because turkey has access to high tech western and Israeli systems and itself can also develop high quality military technology we need these technologies because Pakistan is surrounded by enemies turkey can share these technologies and Pakistan can in return share conventional and cruise missile technology if turkey wants it.Because in the ISLAMIC world only two countries can give west a tough time turkey,Pakistan and somewhat IRAN but problem with IRAN is their lack of technology. That's why in ever hostile world Pakistan must move away from western system and get close to friendly countries like turkey and china.

Bro, If our engineers developed something about defence, Pakistan will also have this technology indeed, When time comes... Our officials are making disscussions among eachothers to give the answer of a qustion that How do We improve the capabilities of Pakistani Navy ? Answer is the full technology transfer of Milgem !!!

Belive me, When time comes, You are going to have all those technologies, If your officials needs... Pak-Turk relations are so deep and secret than We can think... Belive me !!!

The desires of your officials will be our wishes... :)

Oh no you have to tell me or I wont be able to sleep :D

There is a saying "Thotha Chana Bajhe Ghana", In English, Something that is empty inside sounds louder. When we know we are doing and doing well, there's no point in making public announcements about it. I have faith in Pakistan's capabilities and our ties with our friends. I am sure our hardworking professionals would never let us down. So let it be secret, we will witness reality when it is functional and ready to serve
