Turkey to sell ATAK helicopter to Saudi Arabia

T 129 seems to have good future, i am sure it will also be bought by South Koreans very soon.

.
T 129 seriously gave us a lot of experience, its opened a way to further devolepments on helicopter market.

.
If Apaches were the heavy cavalry. Then the T129 is the Light Cavalry. Both serve "Somewhat" The same purpose.

I would prefer the term medium for T-129. T-129 is solely built to hunt and kill.
in my view the lighter versions like Bell OH-58 Kiowa are those who are actually adapted for some combat role with some armour and weapons upgrade although their main role maybe troop ferrying and utility and recon.

in a conflict I would imagine KSA Apaches and T-129 side by side. T-129 will offer same fire power and CAS with impressive agility and good armour whereas Apache might commit itself to head to head confrontation under heavy hostile fire taking out enemy armor and reinforced positions.

I will appreciate if someone can link the general export price of T-129?

.
Btw I remember that they were talking about a longbow like radar for t 129, whats happened ?

.
yes the origin is Italian Augusta but its entirely evolved and more powerful beast made by the Turkish aviation industry. our MBTs also base their origin on Russian tanks. there is always a starting point from somewhere.
your own drones and some aeroplanes are based on captured or old American tech which is an impressive achievement.
I wont laugh at it.

A-129 or T-129 I know if I can buy one for my army I will be going to the Turks.

Agree :coffee:

.
Meteksan completed development of Mildar MMW radar succesfully. After this period, Meteksan offered this radar for Atak and If Turkish Army demands and SSM gives OK, A modified version which suits for attack helicopters in terms of weight/shape, will be applied for ATAK.

In trials, Mildar carried out impressive performance in both SAR and ISAR modes to detect moving land/air targets from km's away.

The likes of T-129 and Cobra are more for supporting ground troops during operations. As in close air support.

The heavier ones like Apaches and Mi-28s are more dedicated as tank hunters and hunter killer operations.
Apache is excellent for even supporting ground troops and anti-infantry roles. Salala incident is an eye-opener.

thx. but i am only interessting of "mildar" design. the picture, who @cabatli has posted, looks little bit strange, for a radar design.
