lol. Although Turkey is begging China for J-10C. But China never agreed to sell the J-10C to Turkey.
I dont know why that clown wants always to jump up and down on Chinese and Chinese matters, these Chinese things have nothing to do with him.

.
it's a true statement. We're not going to take the aircraft apart and ship the engines back to china and wait for them to come back after just 30 hours.
(Or However many hours they last now.)

Turkish Air Force has to maintain a very high combat readiness and our pilots have to fly hundreds of hours to stay effective. The plane being marginally better than F-16 means nothing if we can't keep the pilots trained to a very high level.

For a lot of reasons, this plane is useless for Turkey

To make such a plane aceptable, we would have to buy the licence and and produce it in Turkey with a different engine,(which doesn't exist) different avionics, weapons, etc. At which point it would take a few years and until then TF-X would be ready anyway.

I am completely ignoring politics here. We ignored the politics for S-400 because it was deemed worth it. J-10 just isn't.
S-400 is likely the best system in the world for what it does, J-10 isn't.
The engines don’t have to go back to China - there are country level overhaul facilities for it. The Russians offered Turkey exactly this with the KA-52 Erdogan variant - Pakistan has has very high availability rate with F-16s but also with JF-17s as well - it did suffer what you are talking about with the F-6 in the early years but once the rebuild factory got put into place the things were fairly acceptable.

The issue isn’t (apart from the fact this is likely a fake at best or facetious at worst article ) but that you are right the J-10 offers NOTHING to Turkey it already doesn’t have access to and more importantly the F-16V is the lowest lift to integrate into the TuAF.

Forget the sanctions potential, diplomatic fracas or otherwise - the J-10 is a flat choice from a plain capabilities and systems addition. There is the TFX , the Kizelma and deep F-16 knowledge base - what possibly could the J-10 offer in that.

@Bilal Khan (Quwa) is right - the EF is the logical choice when it comes to adding an interim upgrade to the TuAF for its needs which it can both absorb and sustain easily.

Turkey has a large fleet of F-16. Being a NATO member state, they know deep in their minds, there is still a way to bargain with USA. Saying we will buy J-10 could be used as a political leverage and a bargaining chip. I don't buy this, even considering specifications of J-10, Turkey won't be able to use it to increase its firepower against Greek air force. J-10 needs to be purchased in large number, at the very least 150 unit of it is necessary to change the backbone of TurAF. Not affordable, not cost effective. Unless Turkey completely leaves NATO,,,,,,

Can a J-10C/D even be compared to an F-16 Block 70/72? Who in his/her right mind would choose a nonproven Chinese platform over a combat proven US platform?

We buy Chinese because 1) the US refuses to sell the most advanced F-16's to us and 2) we don't have the money for it otherwise no other offer would have compelled us to divert from the F-16!

This forum proves. Agricultural countries always have numerous excuses to make themselves look not too backward.... But only the elite of this country can understand how backward they are. lol

I believed there is always a tailored version available and I also believed doubts will be clear as we continue to march forward. :-)

First. China has never agreed to sell J-10C to Turkey. Only Turkey presidential advisers are begging.(According to HQ-9 experience, don't pay too much attention to Turkish mouth)

and, How is the F-16 block 70 compared with Taiwan F-16V?

at last. You know more about the Turkish Air Force than your presidential advisor?

.
No, Turkey's true intention is to use the rumors of buying J10C to demand a better price from the US for F16's. NATO would not allow Turkey get Chinese weaponry systems. Remember the HQ9 debacle?

.
Yes, NATO member is going to buy Chinese jets. Very credible news.
They bought S-400 also.

I guess I had seen this. 30 hours is pretty ridiculous,

400 hours is still pretty bad. The whole fleet would be out of commission after a couple of months. Which I have no reason to believe that the chinese have reached the quality of AL-31
You are still living in 2010 ???

. .
lol. The classic tactics of the Turks. Pretend to purchase Chinese weapons to put pressure on the West.

Classic case: HQ-9

Now it's J-10C.

Turks will tell the West: Hey. If you don't sell me weapons. I will buy Chinese weapons.
One day, West will call the bluff and Turkey to prove the point will end-up buying Chinese Hardware just like Russian S-400.

I've been saying that Turkey should go for EF even before the latest F-16 Block 70 order was placed. That's the only logical option left on the table since the souring of relations with the US.

Chinese planes, could be good options for countries like Pakistan and Iran

For us, even if they were offered for free, we would say no, thank you. Far better it is for us to focus on our own fighter development than to waste engineers' time on WS-10, trying to make it work reliably. Avionics that don't work with our systems, etc.

We bought S-400 from Russian and We've made the J600T Ballistic missiles with Pakistan and China. It's not unheard of.

Turkey can do whatever the **** it wants. But J10 is not going to happen.
