Turkey to buy S-300 systems for testing

S. Korea knows Havelsan technology very well. Their CN-235 Full Flight Simulator was also developed by Havelsan...

Russia like any other sane country in the world will not sell their advanced system for "testing".

Belarus is not Russia and it happened once in 1990-es. Today Russia wont allow even Belarus. It was also not the newest version of S-300.

There is nothing secret about MiG-29. In terms of avionics its ancient fighter.

If you read the article carefully, you will see that Turkey does NOT intend to get newest/advanced S-300 variants for testing

You are right at your point, but irrelevant to the topic

How come NATO does not like the Idea of Turkey having a second defensive option for its long range air defences while allowing Greece to have the S300 system through its Cypriot Island using a loophole in NATO's regulations, and allowing Israel to test the electronics of the systems radars.!?
It sounds a bit strange!

Dude, we can get the Russian or Chinese stuff, there is no need for a loophole. The problems is that the Russian or Chinese systems are not compatible with the missile shield we're a part of. It seems clear that we won't go for the Russian or Chinese systems but let them still enter the tender in order to get the best possible deal (in terms of price and technology transfer) for us from the Europeans or Americans. MBDA is apparently offering a full-technology transfer which would be awesome.

Some people over estimate what the NATO has to say and what not

BronzePlaque, there is no restriction, no hyprocrisy (at least) in this case.

Crotale NG (I think It is integrated with S. Korean deal)
I-Hawk
Tor-M
Buk-M
S-300
SA-6
SA-8 GECKO
SA-3 GOA
ZSU-23-4
ASPIDE (I think It is integrated with Pakistan deal)
SPARROW

Missile/air defence systems in Havelsan EHTES. Acc to some source, Turkey is preparing to integrat PAC-2/3 system into EHTES as well. If PAC-3+ win the Turkey's long range deal, It is also directly included into EHTES as well...

I think that we need to break the western monopoly in Turkey, of course S. Korea and Japan are two good countries to cooperate with, and I hope that we'll see more cooperation, but in order to connect more thoroughly with China, Pakistan etc. (asia) I think we need to show that we're ready to acquire stand-alone systems.

Politically it'll either make the western weapons manufacturers jump through hoops or scare them off for good. So perhaps we should follow my suggestion when Turkey has reached a tech level and knowledge that is capable of telling them F-U.

.
The main possibility for turkey, due to its technological know-how is to reverse engineer the S-300 system or another one, put different technologies in it, improve it and call it its own, so no one can protest it or say it is conflicting with NATO missile shield.
The other option is to buy a very sophisticated system as the advanced S-300 versions or the S-400 and keep it as a PASSIVE deterrent, to be activated if need be.
