Turkey to Beef Up Her Aviation Infrastructure to Produce First Fighter Jet

Why the hell they released the names of staff personnel? I won't be suprised if we see one of them died cauz of heart disase or somethin.

Nice to hear. I think the current F-16 and F-35 hands-on experience gives Turkish aviation sector the benefit. I hope they create something better than those Western counterparts.

Looks like KFX

from i know, desing stage of indegenous TFX will take 2 years..First fly 10 years later...Fly test period about 5 years after then mass production will start...

What worries me is the uncertainty of TurAF's demands. After the retirement of our F4 Phantom II and RF4 fleets we'll no longer have any twin engine fighters in our inventory, so it should be obvious that we require a long-range, twin-engine, air-superiority aircraft with 5th generation features much similiar to F22 Raptor (yeah, we should base our plane on 1990's F22 example frankly it's still the best)

Yes but the conceptual design period that you have mentioned (2 years) was till 2013. But still no drawings or specs have been released, I am just very curious to know it well.

I have the same opinion, it is almost obvious that it should be twin engine. But maybe they are discussing how good/expensive it should be.

What I really wonder is how we are going to integrate both F-35 and TFX into our inventory at the same time. Like, putting aside their roles (superiority/multirole) can we develop a better fighter than F-35 already? Because if we are going to use TFX for air-superiority, it is to be better than F-35, at least in A-A combat, but can we do that? Because even though F-35 is not dedicated for air-superiority, it is a project worth 400bn and I think that makes it even more powerful than most A-A fighters.
Just saying....
