Pakistanis - there is no superiority complex or inferiority complex for Indians towards pakistan. History between India and pakistan is not good. Hence, you may see some such comments by Indians (owing to heartburn) ridiculing or putting down pakistan / pakistanis. Please do not take such comments seriously.


Pakistan has always been (will always be) a difficult neighbour for India, Afghanistan etc. I believe pakistan / pakistanis have mastered the art of forgetting what they did to neighbours......,and start blaming India / afghanistan for their problems.

Ankara says the help sent to India to defeat COVID-19 is rooted in historic bilateral ties

Turkey on Thursday recollected Mahatma Gandhi’s support to its liberation struggle and said the assistance sent to India to defeat COVID-19 was rooted in historic bilateral ties. Ankara sent assistance on Wednesday following telephone conversation between External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu.
Turkish assistance consisted of 50 MT of medical supplies including 5 oxygen generators, 680 oxygen cylinders, 50 ventilators and 50,000 boxes of anti-viral medicine. The consignments were sent on board two A400M military cargo aircraft. A statement from the Embassy of Turkey informed that Mr. Cavusoglu offered to send the assistance during the telephone conversation held on April 26.
The statement cited India’s past support to landmark events in Turkey’s history which built bilateral relations.
“The assistance and contribution of Indian people and the prominent Indian figures like the father of the Indian nation — Mahatma Gandhi who collected funds to support Turkey’s Liberation War between 1919-1923, and Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad Ansari who led the medical mission to Ottoman Empire and set up field hospitals to treat wounded Ottoman soldiers during the Balkan War in 1912 are still very much alive in the memories of Turkish people,” a press release from the Embassy of Turkey stated.

It is not aid as india paid for it. It is assistance, as it is provided during time of need. There is a difference between aid & assistance

Taking aid makes India look retarded as India has enough forex to pay up. Why would India take aid when it is rich enough to afford the supplies?

No one looks retarded since it is not about paying capacity but a gesture during a difficult time being faced by a nation. Such aid is different from financial aid for a disaster. Like this one :-

When COVID had started, India and many other countries had sent stuff to China. Does it make China retarded?

India sent vaccines as a gesture to many countries free of cost. Though it shouldn’t have and was a wrong move considering the situation here.

Countries sending material for fighting the pandemic is generally sent as a goodwill gesture. But is called aid because it is an aid after all. Aid under such situations is generally given free. It happens during natural calamities too. Anyways, these piecemeal items are symbolic more than anything else. Major items required are still procured through commercial deals and paid for. Even by Pakistan.

India can definitely pay for all this but due to reasons stated above I don’t think it was required.
