Turkey scrambles F-16's to Syrian border

@Deno: History has a bad habit of repeating itself & wars are the most faithful part of human history. Needless wars are those which are born out of capital greed & not defending against aggression. Turks have a great leader right now & there is no better chance to make a dent. Moreover Turkey always have support from Pakistan & btw our purpose shouldn't be to kick out anyone , it should be to be completely sovereign & take whats rightfully ours & has been hijacked by powerful countries and corporations.

Pakistan had its chance to lead , we missed it . Its Turkey's turn & i have full faith Turkey can provide help in removing Asad & if and when chips fall in Riyadh. I am of the view that Turkey should stop looking at the EU and start looking at countries that favor countries and nations who think of Turks to be one of their own.

There is a legend in Urdu that i would translate for you " Even if your "Blood relative" murders you , He still shall lay your dead body under the shadow not under the burning sun "

.
After all this time, the only thing Turkey will scaramble is eggs...

. .
Why not scramble you instead?

Why me, I am just pointing out that Turkey should have 'scrambled the F-16's to Syrian border' at the very beggining; I did show that in my other comment on the other page... You don't need to get rude!

Not being rude, sorry if you took it that way! Mate wait for it, they will pay BIG TIME!

One question though: Why Alparslan in your Avatar, you know very well what ideology that and 'the finger' symbol implies, don't you?

What does that mean in you're terms lol?

I don't care about Iran more than I care about my own organic wastes expect the Iranian Turks... This war won't be about sending the messege of ''We won't tolarate attacks on our citizens and sovereignty'' this war would be about being a mercanary for GCC interests and little bit for our own...

And to be honest I don't want Turkey to be ''strong'' country if it means that attacking mad regime provacations... Strong countries only defend themselves, they don't try to ''punish'' regimes/countries by wasting their precious citizens lifes... And Israel is a cowardly nation and a state that fears its own shadow... That is not the definition of strong, it is the definition of violance born from fear... Only weak ones start wars... Strong and cleaver ones would either avoid it or end it...

1: This war would not be about the GCC interests, but out of national defense and the responsibility to protect your neighouring people who are getting slaughtered by a dictator. How can a country like Turkey close her eyes to the atrocities being committed in our backyard? Why should we go through another Bosnia incidence?

2: It is defense when your national interest is at stake and when your pilots are killed in international waters. It means the psycopath could anytime repeat the same.

.
I think the Turks should get some NATO help and try to support those who are fighting the Corrupt Regime with best weapons, Bullet proff helmets and vests, night vision, small UAVs, radios, food and other communication equipments ASAP!!!

All these facilities are already being provided to FSA that is why they are able to fight inside the major cities of Syria including capital Damascus. The whole world including Russia & Iran knows that future of Al-Assad regime is bleak but the lasting of conflict will cause more death & destruction now the Turkey,Arabs and west are preparing for the final push.

1.No. Whole Syria stance of Turkey and GCC is about Assad refusing KSA-Turkey pipelie and railway project. Syria is the only ally of Iran in Middle East (I don't count Iraq because US still has tremendous control of Iraq and have 30+ years of oil contract about Iraqi and Kurdish oil) and GCC wants to isolate Iran and have a land route to Turkey, their biggest ally in Middle East. Nowhere in this world can be considered as our backyard... If you mean Syria than I remind you that Turkish goverments job is to raise the prosperity of of Turkish citizens and provide them with sercurity and attacking Syria dangers them both.

2. No, that is called punishment at best and its not our job to ''punish'' provocations done by a regime that is about to fall. Starting a war with Syria will cause hundreads of life if not thousands and not to forget that increasing Iranian support of PKK... Best way to not getting hurt by psycopath is to ignore them or avoid them...

I agree with your assessment of the situation and the reason behind that, Erdogan’s hug and cuddle with Al-Assad before the uprising was to take him under his umbrella and if you remember during the same period King Abdullah of KSA also visited the Syria. After uprising Erdogan & his Foreign Minister Davutoğlu tried their level best to pacify Al-Assad to make necessary changes in the Governing structure of the country and democracies it but Al-Assad did not heed to the advices and the result is in front of us. The Syrian land trade route is vital for economic integration of Turkey with both the Mashreq & Maghreb Arab world and of course it will bring the prosperity in the region including the Levantine region in general and Syria in Particular. So for now the removal of Al-Assad is a prime target for Turkey and Arabs to achieve the future goal of the Middle East.

I am at work now so I can't write lengthy replies but I have to say , very good analyses. I didn't think that a person who doesn't live in ME and doesn't know the daily small news report would realize this aspect of Syrian stance of Turkey and GCC. I really am impressed by your knowledge of ME politics and ability to look beyond the obvious.

A regime change in Syria would mean that a new Sunni dominated Syria will be an ally of Turkey and GCC and connect Turkey to GCC. With future pipeline and railway projects it will also increase our exports to GCC and decrease our oil and gas dependence of Russia and Iran.

Thank you very much for you kind words and i am also at work so could not put much effort to summarize the paragraph would like to talk to you in length when we both of ample time to do so.

I think Jordan and Saudi Arabia should look closely to get some colabration of those areas in which Sunni majority is present and try to make it their own part of the country. For KSA, they should talk seriously to Bahrain, Qatar and Kuwait for joining KSA. So that they can be much stronger than before and can with stand in front of IRAN or any other power. INSHA ALLAH. Ameen.
