‘Turkey’s Syria stance aggravates plight of Iran’s Turks’

Please my brothers. Defending a race not meaning insulting other races. I do not think any of mature members of the forum enjoys reading these things. I never accept defending Turks rights by insulting Persians. Not Iran nor Turkey has problem with Kurd race. One should not judge them on the bases of PKK or Pejak, internationally well known terrorist groups. They are even not popular at Iraqi Kurdistan.

Please stop insulting races of both great nations ie. Iran & Turkey. What could be the benefit of it for Turkey or Iran? If you find a post in a racism side please do not reply it just simply trust the conscience of readers. Be sure this proves your highness.

Why? I do not cover there is a miss-understanding about races rights and racism in Iran but which part of that post is arguable?

I didn't mean the post i quoted but your posts in general about this issue. Like you are under some kind of pressure. You as an Azeri who is living in Iran haven't said anything certain, like "Yes, we are having a hard time in Iran" or vice versa.

In 1514, Safavid army manned by Turkmen tribesmen were defending their "Turkish" foothold in Eastern Anatolia. Opposite side was Ottoman Army trying to crush Turkish resistance.

After 500 years, Turkmens became Defenders of "Persia". And Ottomans became defenders of Turks. What an irony...

After reading so much about history, i find it laughable. And sometimes difficult to understand.

Azeri, Turkmen, Qizilbash, Qashqai, Afshar, call it what you want, they are Iranian. They have nothing to do with your confused nation. The Safavid Empire defended Iran, not Turkism. If you believe otherwise you clearly know nothing about history. They where all Shahs of Iran, not Shah of Turkistan or Turan.

Never try and spread your Pan-Turkist twisted view of history around those who actually know the truth. You will just end up looking foolish.

for 100 years after Islamic invasion Iran remained predominantly Sunni country after Safavid's long conversion drive Iran became a majority Shia country if you see today's geography & demography you find all the four Shia population center once ruled by Safavid ie Iran,Azerbija,Iraq & Bahrain.

You do realize that Esmail Safavi is the one who turned Iran Shia right? Do you know why he done that? It seems like you don't so I will try and educate you. He done it so that he would differentiate Iran from the Ottomans, therefore being able to take the fight to them from a different angle. So the problem between Iran and Ottoman wasn't Sunni Shia, that was just a means to an end. The real problem was very simple, Iranian empire Vs Ottoman one, cant get simplet then that!

Yes, of course. But Safavids was themsleves from Azerbaijan, they rised in first place because Azerbaijani Turks supported Shah Ismail by far against Agh-Qoyunlu. Thus, Azerbaijan had already become Shia.

Ottomans were multi ethnic society, and grew by both subduing Anatolian Turkish beyliks and recruiting Christian devshirmes.

By 1514, Ottomans lost its Turkish or Turkmen character. And before, by 1453, Turkish aristocracy was Replaced by Devshirme system.

and one more thing:core of the Ottoman army, yenicheris or janissaries were Bektashi, not Sunni.

Chaldyran war was won by Janissary riflemen. It was quasi Shia, Bektashi Janissaries who played major role in defeating Safavids in Chaldyran.

Wonderful summary, can you please shred the light on who was behind the Haider & Ismael fro this conversion derive. Why Ottomans realized the intention and conversion process by Safavid so late?

But the irony is, we came to lands of where today's Iran located, conquer it, and now, the local people in lands we conquered is saying their conquerors were locals. You know, as a bunch of crazy people who invaded almost all of the continents, Turkic people effected by various cultures, but it doesn't mean they are not Turks.
