Turkey, Pakistan to sign a record deal to supply 30 ATAK helicopters

. .
Pakistan's purchase ? I thought this was free from Turkey ! Because Pakistan don't have no money to pay $1.5 billion.

If Pakistan does have money, then she should better take care of the current account deficit rather than buying things she can't afford.

Stop being a dumb troll and make some sense in what you say and when you say it or you will be out of here real quick !!!!

Good deal. Pakistan needs helicopters that can operate in extremely adverse conditions. High altitude - most of Western Pakistan is high plateau at about 4-5,000 feet. In summer the climate can be dry and hot. In winter freezing and snow. On the eastern side of Pakistan we have flat deserts where temps can hit 45 C. But I think because Turkey also has varied and rugged climate, highlands, lowlands, semi arid, mountains this chopper is good fit for Pakistan. Also I think the support package will be superfluous. Down the road joint production would offer advantages of economies of scale. One platform that supplies two large militaries.

Good news all around !

Good news. Hopefully they have a better chance of being delivered than the AH-1Zs were!!!!!

Atak uses a lot of western components, from engines to avionics. Hopefully all 30 get delivered without western sanctions interfering.

The T129 is powered by two LHTEC T800-4A turboshaft engines. Each engine can develop a power output of 1,014kW.

The T800-4A is an export variant of the CTS800 engine. It has a length of 0.85m, a diameter of 0.56m and weighs about 154kg.

planned but not done

The Turkish ASELFLIR 300T will replace the AW129’s Honeywell surveillance and targeting systems. The helicopter always has its 3-barreled 20mm chin turret, and certified weapons for its 4 side pylons include its 12.7mm machine gun pods, 70mm unguided Hydra and guided Cirit rockets, anti-tank missiles (TOW, Spike-ER, Hellfire), and Air-to-Air Missiles (Stinger, Mistral). Turkey is also working to develop and then certify its own IIR-guided UMTAS anti-tank missile for the T129.
