Moscow has agreed to improve relations with Ankara after
the letter from Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan
Speaking about Russian aircraft shot down last year by the
Turkish air defense near the Syrian border.
"We will cooperate with all those fighting Daech. This is
what we do for some time and we opened
the Incirlik airbase to those who want to actively
participate in the fight against Daech "said the Turkish minister
Foreign Mevlut Cavusoglu in an interview with the
Sunday TRT.
"Why not cooperate with Russia following the same
terms? "he asked himself." Daech is our common enemy and
we must fight this enemy, "he said.
If the Islamic state is presented by the Turkish government
as a common enemy of Turkey and Russia are supporting
opposing sides in the Syrian civil war.

Bashar al Assad strongly supported by Russia and Iran.
The countries of NATO, of which Turkey is a member, could
see a dim view of the possibility for Russia
to use the Incirlik base located less than ten kilometers
north of the city of Adana near the Syrian border.
Incirlik houses were American, German,
British, Saudi and Qatari involved in
international coalition formed to fight the state

The Russian president called the Turkish proposal
"Important statement that should be reviewed with a view
military and political ", but said that no contact
had so far been established with Turkey on this
eventuality.
Dmitry Peskov, the Kremlin spokesman, added that
the attack at the airport in Istanbul last week
confirmed that the exchange of information between the two countries
was "crucial" for combating terrorism.
