Trust on Turkish institutions and political will is extremely weak that Ankara had to make a deal with an American consulting firm to overcome the economic crisis without applying to the International Money Fund (IMF), Ümit Akçay, an economics professor, said on Thursday.

Turkish pro-government Sabah news quoted Turkey's Treasury and Finance Minister Berat Albayrak saying Turkey has decided to work with international consulting company McKinsey which will "check the (economic) aims and outcomes" in every quarter of the year based on the new economic programme.

Referring to Albayrak's new economy programme and his statements in Sabah, Akçay said Ankara had found a way to follow the IMF's possible economy plans without making an actual deal with the IMF.

Criticising the government to share the information closed to the general public with a private company, Akçay said the details of the deal should be announced publicly.

"Disabling the institutions which conduct inspections on behalf of the public such as Turkish Court of Accounts and Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TMBB), and worse, the failure to replace these institutions (with better ones) show the governmental crisis inTurkey."

"We are out of the Court of Accounts, we can give you McKinsey," Akçay added allegorically.

Albayrak introduced a new economic programme on Sept.20, but similar to the former plan; the new one also failed to instil confidence in the markets. The objectives and goals of 2018 to 2021 programme are far from convincing; the only distinctive feature of this new programme is its recognition that there is an economic crisis, Zülfikar Doğan, an Ahval contributor commented.

The IMF said on Sept.21 that it has taken note of the announcement of Turkey’s new economic programme and will be updating its economic forecasts for the country in response to Albayrak's financial plan.

Here we go, Turkey government asks Americans for help while simultaneously it's accusing them of plotting against Turkey!

.
Almost every Ally of US got issues with American every now and than .. so its no big deal if Turkey is doing it .

.
it is not an economic or financial deal...itis an regular consulting agreement with a private financial institution by Treasury and finance minestry..

. .
It is about to show that the objectif evaluation about the economic program is doing by an international firm. It is a move to win confidence of the international investors and to cut the sabotages of credit rating agencies towards the Turkish ecenomy. There is nothing about a loan.It is a very clever move but is it so hard to understand by an "arabic" man. Qatar issue isnt related with Turkish ecenomy so dont be very happy.

Turks came to understand that if you pour in some money in the US (what Trump wants).. the US policies towards Turkey might ease a bit..

How much money has been poured US as bribe to make US calmer ? How type a slave mentality is that. That might be your style while ruling your state but at least not compare yourself with Turks to justify your shame !

The whole world has a problem with America, the entire world was laughing at America in the last United Nations summit.

Turkey is right to be angry after the USA has continuously backstabbed them, and are even trying to tear apart their country by creating an armed Kurdish state on their borders.

If KSA is buying weapons or investing money in the US while they both enjoy a good relationship is a shame, then investing money in the US while the relationship is quite tense, is much more shameful.. just a bit of logic based on facts..

I don’t suppose people here have a problem to describe the actual meaning of “shame” and ita connection with Saudi mentality, so no need to do a belly dancing around the words to cover up your excuse. Just keep satisfying your boss with money and enjoy with their tolerance like slaves. As you said That is what they want. I hope they don’t want something special from your kings. Turkey is not inside the level of your ethic and will never be.
