Turkey launches a new, highly improved satellite today, intending to use it for military purposes and it is expected to contribute to Turkey's war on terror, border controls and regional searches to a greater extent.

Its launching will be watched in a ceremony held by the Undersecretariat for Defense Industries and the Turkish air forces with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

Göktürk-1 Satellite's assembly and integration was undertaken by Italian Telespazio and French Thales Alenia Space in the city of Cannes, France.

It will rotate around the earth every 90 minutes and shoot over 60,000 images in a year, then transfer them to the Ground Station of the Air Forces Command.

The satellite, which will convey higher-resolution images compared to its kind in the world, can carry out a wide variety of duties, such as planning, environmental research, border control, cadastral and municipal works, and so on.

We launch most on our own and build all on our own. Welcome to the real world.
yes u can launch your own satellite . but Turkey will not launch on its own . it does not mean that Turkey lacks that capability .They can build their own SLV if turks want . Sending a satellite in space means that u can nuke any place in the world ( though Turkey does not has nukes ). Thus Turkey will be sanctioned just like Iran from West . I think u want to compare your country with Turkey. Turkey is miles and decades ahead of India in defence , Living standards , per capital income , health facilities and education . u can only dream of to become what Turkey is today . deal with that .
