I am pretty confident in my POV that to be able to create something a kind to commonwealth you'd need strong financial institution and Turkey doesn't have that at the moment.

Instead of looking at the past and trying to recreated a flawed structure, you need to learn from past mistakes and focus on what's important. And for me Turkey in harmony with it self is important, which means all the citizens. Until that is done the western powers and some ME will always try to use the situation to their advantage.

Turkey as it is now is a safe haven for Syrians, arabs come to trade in Turkey, and this is despite th problems we have with the PKK. Because every person with an education and brains knows that Turkey is stable and you do not rock the boat!
Only the people who're poor and who're easily affected by politicians and people with ulterior motives wants to destabilize our country because they're interested in a better life. But they're forgetting that whoever they choose to follow is not their hero, no those bastards have other plans.

Idolizing politicians, military, founders, rebels is a big mistake. Because there is no room for that in Islam. You can respect them, and that's about it. I guess we need more patiots than nationalists or whater-ists. Because a patriot does the right thing only with thought and well being of the people and country in mind IMO.

Turkey never experienced true development because of empty fanaticism of one kind or another. We need pragmatism beyond everything else.

Calling the other one "stupid" before expressing your ideas must be a great way of talking if you really do not want your counterpart to adopt your ideas. While I accept the fact that I can not change someone's opinion 180 degree in a second, I expect others to understand the fact that my opinions can not be changed 180 degree in a second.

Isn't Turkey in NATO - a security apparatus consisting of Britain, France and a bunch of other countries who were instrumental in dismembering the Ottoman Empire ?
