Turkey hosted 30 million visitors in 10 months of 2017

Turkey is doing better at Tourism so let's just discredit the tourist and tourism so l can feel better...

Just a year ago he opened threads to mock the Turks on how bad we were doing in tourism but all of a sudden when it's getting better our little Marcus sees tourism as a bad thing

He is a hater without any logic no matter what you say he will find something. Bann him from Turkish forum to get rid of the cancer.

How do you personal see 28 million tourists in one city, almost as much as your entire country has. Do you see this as positive?

The Russians are the worst Tourist... " Economicaly speaking"... they spend around 80-120$ in average... and added to it... Govs gave them discount in their "flight+Hotel"... So in the End...they are just around to keep those ppl "open"
For comparaison... African tourist spend in average 2x to 3x the Russians...
Exactly, Cultural tourism should be pushed more which means Tourists from Asia, this year i was in Kappadocia, Pamukkale, Lycian Tombs in Dalyan, Pergamon, Troj it was packed with Chinese, Japanese and Korean Tourists in late Semptember.

I don't know why are you on that number??
Italy has around 45Mil tourist per year... therefore 10-15Mil more than Turkey... (30-35Mil)
Mostly concentrated in Venise and Rome...

What do you want to prove? that only 2-3 places in Italy are "interesting"???

The problem with tourism in Turkey is related to the all inclusive offers. It's great for ppl who don't have to think of dinner and such, but the result is that it attracts way too many bad tourists. Tourists should have decent maners and behave decently, but all too often you hear about tourists from a certain country who act like monkeys or savages.

And yes, RTE and AKP EU bashing and unstable politics has made it difficult for the tourism business the past few years, so hopefully we'll recover. it's a lot of money for the local population.

i.e. take Philippines for example they haven't really commercialized the tourism very well, so the few hotels they have that are good, goes for insane rates. And that's mostly because it's foreigners who're the developers and managers of the hotels.

Also I don't get that italian dude, if his city is suffering from tourism do something about it, and stop complaining here.

Promote cheap tourism of mass..... and become like Spain. (For exemple Mallorca,Baleares,Barcelona welcoming all the drunktards and idiots of Europe who turn those idyllic places into hellholes and making the life hard for the inhabitants...)
40€ Barca ... Vol+2nuits...

The inhabitants of Mallorca arent fond of the situation either iirc from a documentary i have seen years ago.

The thing is beautyful beaches get plastered with hotel complexes outside the cities only serving as a tourism industrial complex, you first loose the natural beauty and then dont see any significant contribution to the GDP either, this has to stop.

I've been to Barcelona, now I don't need to go there ever again, the food was horrible. had to find a kebab store to get proper meal. Of course I haven't tried any high class restaurents, so they're not included in my statement.

Numbers of visitors in Venice were 2016 21 million and in 2017 28 million. Thats the current numbers. SO far i took this as normal since its numbers one can not do much about. Now that i read that Turkey has 30 million visitors i have another number i can correlate with.

The problem is that places like Venice suffer enormous. So far i dont know solution to do something against that. Dubrovnik has a clock that counts tourists and thecity is closed down when a certain number is reached. But idk if that would work for Venice.

I have a spanish friend in Mallorca who owns a restaurant there,no cheap tourists allowed there.

Lol at The Netherlands.. Dutch people always complain about Turkey and Erdogan but almost 10% of its population goes to Turkey for holiday.. How hypocrite..

Good thing is the low currency for the Turkish economy it self.. The low currency attracts many tourists because the money value is so low and their buying power goes up. This means that tourists spend their money not only on hotels, but also on other facilities. This way many euros will pumped in to the banks..

But i dont know if the intermediate services such as travel agencies pay the Turkish hotels with euro's or TL..

Lol at the one person here ranting against the tourism industry . Anyways congrats to Turkey and more importantly the Turkish security forces, without whose efforts the incidents of terrorism in the country would not have declined. The reason for the 2016 dip in tourism was the increased terrorist attacks. Turkish Airlines is also doing a great job for you guys, as many people I know extend their stopover stay at Ataturk Airport so that they can visit Istanbul.

You need to pay more attention, since most users argued that a country needs less cheap all-inclusive tourists and more of the sightseeing, culturually interested and thus more money spending tourists.

I wouldnt go to Antalya or Alanya if they gave me money, thats how bad it is during the summer months.
