Not all the time obviously, but when a landing zone is very hot, attack helicopters accompany these transport helicopters.

Translation/summary:
An agreement worth close to 0.5 billion USD has been made between Aselsan and Turkish Aerospace Industries under the Turkish Utility Helicopter Program with the aim to deliver the undisclosed products between the years of 2018-2025.

Might be everything from E/O-systems to flight computers - nevertheless it is awesome to see that our domestic industry is involved to the maximum extent possible when it comes to this kind of major projects.

You need some kind of mounted gun during transport missions, just to cover the soldiers while they board.

We should have good for AW159. I don't know why they refused Agusta while the Land Forces already operate 151+ UH-60 Blackhawks, 40+ AS532 Cougar, 200+ Bell 204/206/212 and 40 Kiowa.

. .
Congratulations Turkey!

I like the Black Hawk, you guys have gone for the best(iest). We order ~70 units 4 years ago, and we already fly ~40 of 'em.

in deed it is, everyone expected TAI to choose AW159, but they listened the demands of army aviation. 151 Blackhawks+27 Seahawks have been serving to our security for over more than 20 years. From Afghanistan to the Horn of Africa, from counter-terrorism/domestic security operations in Eastern Turkey to clashes at the Aegean. The Blackhawk/Seahawk was the most reliable platform for branch aviators :)

What is the timeline of completion of completion of LUH project??

We aren't going to ask permission to mount door guns that's a load of bullshit.

What this article means is that Turkey will have to ask for permission in order to mount external weapons that'd need installation of pylons and integration to avionics.

Since most of these helicopters are going to the ministry of interia and Jandarma, that isn't a problem.
It's not like they're going to need Hellfires.

Seahawks have external payloads with Hellfires, Penguines. ÖKK Blackhawks also have Hellfires and EFTs. US government had given us that clearance almost a decade ago.

where the hell have you been anyways
