Turkey Has 'Plans B, C, D' to Replace F-35 With Su-57, J-31 if US Blocks Delivery – Report

I doubt that S-400 missiles with equal/comparable specs are that much cheaper...

Actually most of Chinese engine tech is built upon Russian hardware, including all their latest turbofan engines which they still have to perfect. Spending billions on dollars is going to bear fruit eventually but it is still on the backs of what Russians created. There is no shame in it of course but that is the reality.
That is a wrong statement. WS-10 is model based on CFM56 core. We Chinese have repeated many times and I dont know why some cant get into their head. The latest WS-15 is not based on any Russian core since Russian themselves cant even hit thrust to weight 11:1 and how do copy Russian core helps?

Even the thrust vector tech used by Chinese is totally different from Russian.

You can see the petal blend into certain direction rather than whole nozzle pointing towards a same direction like the Russian one shown below.

This is the latest WS-19 demo, clearly demonstrated a new high thrust turbofan with nothing related to Russian. A complete new high end engine design by Chinese.

For those not sure about Chinese aero engine development. I suggest stop making ignorant comment or at least do better research before making one.

Turkish companies TEI and Kale Aero produces engines since years and also produces for many international companies such as Airbus, Boeing, GE Aviation, Rolls Royce...
That are licensed manufacturing which is totally different from self develop engine. Many core and flight control are still import in a whole piece critical component and assemble. There is not much to learn to help Turkish learn anything in regards to high thrust turbofan.

Tell me, which modern high thrust turbofan is designed and self made by Turkey without foreign assist? None.. except a small turbofan that power a cruisel missile only.

i doubt turkey has the balls to risk doing that...considering the state of its economy...and its extended 'stay" in syria.

Enjoy.

Turkey is currently working on it's own turbofan, we have knowledge and experience in building western engines something we will use for sure on our own project.
