Turkish GCC alliance against whom ? It is not explicitly mentioned but according to common sense it looks like Iran. What is it suppose to achieve ? Is it due to Shia control of Yemen. Is it due to Iranian influence increasing in the Middle East ? It seems the Saudis and GCC think that way. The Saudis and GCC see Iran as a threat and potential enemy. Will it become a full fledged alliance or just fizzle out after some deliberations. If Iran plays it cool then it most likely will fizzle out.
Some people on this forum are talking of Pakistan and Turkey forming an alliance. Against whom ? Today Pakistan is in an uneasy peace with India. Turkey as part of NATO is at peace with Europe and Russia. Even Cyprus has become quiet. Before we can form an alliance with Turkey, we should go into joint production of military equipment with the Turks. Have common military standards. Common training methods and facilities. That is the first step to an alliance. Meanwhile Iran is also our friend and we should start thinking of similar terms with Iran. Then one day we will be on the path of an alliance.

Any Alliance without Pakistan is Incomplete and the kings are not going to take such a Risk. it is infact ALL+GCC.

this is good news for pakistan & pakistan navy, as it seems out matched by the indian navy. there is no doubt turkey is going to help pakistan in any potential conflict with india, with or without an alliance. but a formal alliance is preferable.

this aint good news for the saudis unless saudis join the alliance which is likely since the new king salman has improved turkish-saudi relations. if saudis join then so does gcc cos saudis control the gcc countries. the exception is uae.

this aint good news for iran. period.

I have read the above the news report. Now it is becoming clear why GCC is interested in an alliance with Turkey. They see Iran as a threat. We don't. We will not be part of any such alliance. Good luck with your alliance with GCC. I would rather see GCC money going to a fellow muslim country than to US or NATO.

We are Iran proof. Iran can not do any damage to us. They know better than to mess with us. Here we sunnis are in majority and Iran knows this very well and respects us.We have other problems but no sectarian war due to Iran. You turks have Iraq and Syria to fight over so good luck in your cold war with Iran.
