Turkey Backs Operations in Yemen, Calls on Iran to Leave

yes and that sealine is used mainly to provide arab oil to european markets. turkey gets and will get its energy needs from inland suppliers (russia, iran, turkmens and azerbaijan). this intervention is a part of iran-saudi proxy war in which both these forces are opposed to turkey.

We also need this Route to become less dependent to Russia and Iran on Energy Supplies ! This Sea link is not only for Energy important also for the growing Influence on the Horn of Africa !

Folks, keep personal disputes out of this please.

As for the topic, this is big news. Now Turkey lends its support.

.
Guys please stop and stay on topic. If you don't like someone or some people just put them on the ignore list. Please don't insult each other in this section either.

My thoughts on this:
1- Turkey is sending a message to Iran (stop sticking your noses everywhere)
2- Turkey&SA and Egypt are using this interventation as an experiment to create an operational blueprint which can also be largely applied to the Iranian proxies in Syria and Iraq if need be
3- The countries in the region are telling Iran to shut up about trying to dominate the Middle East (all the Iranian talk about "Baghdad is part of our civilisation"/ "We can influence Jordan" / "We will bomb NATO bases in Turkey if push comes to shove " eg
4- Iran is being put through a tutorial on how to play the Middle East game since they forgot/ignored the most crucial rules of it

.
what i wonder is, why would Turkey back SA, which actually is (or maybe was under the previous king) not that close to our country? There seems to be an overriding factor like halting Iran's influence or securing a safe and guaranteed sea passage around Yemen, which might not be guaranteed under the Houthis and Iran's influence. Whatever it is, it must be quite serious for Turkey and SA to team up.

It's to show Iran that they can't influence and shape the Middle East as they see fit.

it's also really interesting how lots of countries have agreed on helping SA through aerial and ground campaigns against the Houthis. I mean, why is the scope of this campaign so big? I think there is a message towards Iran from all these countries.

naah, turkey will sell rusian gas, maybe oil to europe via southern pipeline and if talks between iran and west succeed, will also sell iranian oil&gas. add to that azerbaijani and turkmen gas/oil. turkey also gets and sells iraqi oil through yumurtalık pipeline. to project power through naval means you need more than just a single sea route. that's why USA is the only global power. turkey is supporting this intervention only because iran is after building an empire in the middle east.

Iranian terrorists being smashed in front of their eyes will give a clear message to Iranian proxies in Iraq and Syria too that is spreading death and decay with their terror brigades. The coalition has to set a clear example in Yemen. We will see how Iran will take it. They will either back down and lick their wounds, rethink their sectarian violent foreign policy or they will act out like a child. Knowing Iran I fear for the worst. If they make a violent decision, Israel won't miss this the chance to serve Iran what they have been cooking for others for 40 years.

Good to see they started to act united and spend their money on more important things than indoor ski slopes.
What needs to be done is bringing in stability and prosperity to north african states first, levant is a too big mess right now.

sauds are getting more influence if they succeed also we can see some big changings like an arab joined army

the worst thing wich could happen is SA leading this army towards syria iraq and gaining influence over them then we would have sauds playground next to our door..

its good to shut down irans proxy but it comes with a price..

it's also really interesting how lots of countries have agreed on helping SA through aerial and ground campaigns against the Houthis. I mean, why is the scope of this campaign so big? I think there is a message towards Iran from all these countries.

also it is interesting SA as some kind of leader of this groub..also interesting is the US part that SA revealed this message in washington.. interesting how agressive sisi is acting (warnshooting at iranian ships) interesting turkeys and pakistanian role in this.. also the whole one united tone from all this countries.. must be something wich was well planned.. maybe this is the next stage of pushing iran back..

for us it has benefits and risks

It was time Turkey told them to mind their manners

I dont like the way it had been done.. I would have done it earlier without foreign help..

@Timur

This it's more effective 9+ voices making the same warning is much more serious than 1 or 2 voices making halfhearted warnings.
