Turkey angry about Greek-French deal

We're not getting just three frigates,we're probably also getting 4 Gowind corvettes and the Navy knows we need to replace more ships. So I guess there will be more ships to be bought in the future. The deal was for 3+1 FDI and 3+1 Gowind, but the Gowind are still under negotiation. We've been left behind when it comes to the Navy and it is vital for us,if we want to protect our islands.

The question though is,how good all this "purely indigenous" Turkish weapons are and how long could they keep making them if their economy is destroyed by external and internal factors and they are under total embargo by big a coalition of countries. They are not Iran, the Iranians survived partly because they have some of the largest oil reserves in the world.

Of course you are right about their shipbuilding plans. Like I've said in other threads, they had been making ships and submarines like crazy for the last 10-12 years while we were having the economic crisis. And imagine that the Germans wouldn't even let us get 2 FREMM from the French! At first we wanted 6 FREMM in 2009,then we decided to buy 4 and then 2. But the crisis governments neglected the Armed Forces significantly and that's why we're trying to finally buy some new equipment.
I'll answer your question, When compared to other countries who kickstarted their arms industry in the past few years, I'd say Turkey produces the best weapons. The economic factor does impact the sustainability of this arms program and I agree with you on that. This is precisely why I do not like Erdogan, he ran a rising nation's economy into the ground. Good to see we are more or less in agreement on Turkey's shipbuilding progress.

As far as Greece is concerned, I doubt your ability to raise a navy that can face the Turks anytime soon. What I can appreciate is the Hellenic Air Force's modernization program albeit without much indigenous input.

If you ask me,Erdogan overdid it with his ambitious megaprojects and spending money here and there.
I like their MRAPs and armored vehicles. Some say they didn't prove so good in battle, but I like them. At least they look beautiful.
As for the rest,I don't know.

What I can tell you about our Navy is that it needs a modernisation. I trust our Navy,we've been a sea people since the most ancient times.
Whether the Turks have more ships or not,we still have to maintain a balance. The last time we bought a frigate was in 1988 or 1989 with the MEKO 200HN which started arriving in 1992-1993 onwards. So you understand we need a stronger navy.

What A War Between Greece And Turkey Would Look Like

I thought that i d read the list of the armagedon weapons of the superpower turkiye
but according to this recent new approach,

Greece has the over hand on sky ( more in the future if turkey not update airforce)
and seas ( sea nation + the sumbmarines 214 that doesnt still have Turkey).

of course 99% nothing will happen
