Tunisian New UAV Rotary Wing

ROT_02.jpg

Nice concept but How realistic payload the concept represents for an UAV in that size.

-If We considers the missiles integrated on wings as UMTAS equivalent which has an optimum weight around 37,5kg each. 2 missile for each wing means UAV is able to carry up to 4 AT missiles = 150kg
-For Launchers, UMTAS launcher weight for 4 missile = 60kg
-If We consider the FLIR system as 3th generation which has a weight around 30-40kg.
-The fore mounted gun system whose weight may change in accordance with the calibres but aprox. 20kg for minimum calibres.
-No need to mention munition store which will feed the gun: ? (I receive 60-70kg)
-Fuel for motors: I receive min. 200kg for such size UAV.
--------------------------------------------------------------
550kg total payload

To compare the size/payload relations with other examples, Turkey's ANKA UAV which has a 18m wingspan has a payload capacity Fuel capacity: 300kg
Payload capacity: 200-250kg.

i guess it will be in the size of attack helicopter

.
Armament:
Stabilized high accuracy anti material cannon .50 cal hollow point ammunition with separate targeting optics

Metal storm pod, smoke and flash grenades

2 short range Anti-Tank missiles

It is possible!
ANKA can carry more load, if the engine is changed to turbojet or compressor turbojets.
Turbosupercharger or wankel engines do not have the same power.

I suppose Mock-up prototype looks more or less similar size with TAI's RIHA UAV which has around 350kg take-off weight. Development is proceeding for RIHA-G.

An Unmanned Aerial veicle which have a simlar size with Attack helicopters is a different story to mention. It isn't easy to let fly such heavy fuselages(Light Attack helicopter T-129 Atak has 5 tonnes take off weight) carrying tonnes of munitions and fuel with a joystick.

I Don't think as my brother say i thing the size will be between that tiny UAV and A129 Augusta

.

There are some differences between the two designs:
1. The Tunisian model has stealth features.
2. The blade of Tunisian model is different which provides more stability and might be more quite.

even in the size
our UAV it will be bigger than the Turkish one
and in the mission the Tunisian can used as combat helicopter but the Turkish looks surveillance only

The turkish UAV can also be armed with an Launcher for two Cirit Missiles under the fuselage. Helicopter UAV's which will be capable to operate from Warships and can conduct armed Reconaisance are planned as far I know !

.
Seems like a pretty sweet designed Rotary UAV, What kind FLIR will it be armed with?

. .
congrats, nice design, it's great to see such achievements from your country ..
