MINGORA: Two commanders of the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Swat chapter have died of illness in the custody of the security forces, sources told The News on Monday.



The sources said that Muslim Khan and Mehmood Khan were arrested in 2010. Four to five important TTP figures were arrested on the occasion and Muslim Khan and Mehmood Khan were among them.



Muslim Khan was spokesman for the TTP in Swat. Mehmood Khan was one of the Taliban negotiators in Swat and had good contacts with government officials.



The sources said that both the TTP commanders died in the custody of the security forces. However, there was no official confirmation of the deaths. The local sources said the commanders died last year.

A high level inquiry should be held and responsible persons should be rewarded handsomely.

We should keep them alive, do lashes and let them say Allah akbar. TTP is big threat for peace here. And those culprits in prison could bring us more substance of taliban in other areas and their chain of food, logistics and other items. I hope for full inquiry about their death.

Could be that they lost under torture when they were being interrogated for information about their system ... This might be better as our courts might have let them go under te reason that they are too old.

Muslim Khan used to brag about how he would boil pakistani soldeirs with boiling oil, good riddance, now he has hell to look forward too.
