TTP suffers a split-up following the formation of Jamaatul Ahrar

PESHAWAR: Key commanders belonging to the outlawed Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) have announced the formation of a new group by the name of TTP Jamatul Ahrar, with Maulana Qasim Khurasani as the new Ameer and also comprising other commanders.

Former TTP spokesperson Ehsanullah Ehsan, who has been nominated as the spokesman for the splinter group, mostly comprising the Mohmand Agency Taliban, told Dawn from an undisclosed location, that the new group was not willing to take sides in the current political tussle in Islamabad as they only wanted the Shariah system to prevail in the country.

According to them, Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Dr Tahirul Qadri were no different from the current political rulers, and that both of them were inclined towards the Western style of democracy.

He added that along with Khurasani, the TTP Jamaatul Ihrar Shura also comprises Umer Khalid Khurasani from Mohmand Agency, Qari Shakil Haqqani from Charsadda, Maulana Yasin from Swat, Qari Ismail from Khyber Agency, Maulana Adbullah from Bajaur Agency, Mufti Misbah from Peshawar, Maulana Haider and Mansoor Nazim Shura from Orakzai Agency.

The Pakistan Army launched Operation Zarb-e-Azb in June against foreign and local terrorists who were hiding in sanctuaries in North Waziristan.

The comprehensive operation was launched a week after militants made a brazen insurgent attack on the country's busiest airport in Karachi.

Following the assault in Karachi, the US carried out two drone strikes in North Waziristan.

Prior to the operation being conducted, pressure had been mounting on the government to launch a ground offensive in the Taliban-infested North Waziristan tribal district.

North Waziristan Agency has been isolated by troops along its border with neighbouring agencies and Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) to block any movement of terrorists in and out of the Agency.

this new group contain all the main leaders of TTP and if this group also has been separated from ttp like sajna group i guess this is also a massive blow to already dying TTP...all credit goes to pak army for lauching zarb e azab and breaking their back and ISI to supporting them.....INSHALLAH 2014 will be the last year for TTP

.
their ability to wage terrorism on Pakistan has been diminished significantly and it shows....but this shouldnt mean that people should decrease vigilance and not report suspicious activity if they see it

their criminal networks still likely exist, as does their financing from hostile regional country(s)

keep the traction going and obliterate them wherever they are hiding, whether across the border or on our soil......furthermore, intelligence on the ground should continue to play a key role in assisting these groups to murder eachother....saves Army bullets

More divided they are easier it will become for PA to operate, these rented terrorists are on the run & are on total disarray, this is the right time to crush & eliminate them once & for all.

No terrorist should be spared & all of them should be dealt with force. Rented terrorists in Balochistan province are enjoying help from foreign powers & these rented terrorists should not be allowed to operate freely, operation against these rented terrorists is the only option.

These kinds of events and statements, by violent extremist organizations such as these, should remove all doubt about their intent and ideology. If this was about Islam, then we wouldn’t see the continuous splintering of groups, since their actions and ideology would be based on Islamic laws and ideology. It is safe to say that these groups are nothing more than extremists with little or no regard for human life, suffering and faith. Yet, they have the audacity to disparage democracy, which is not solely a Western idea and is - at its core – designed to be representative of the people, either directly or indirectly through elected representatives. These power hungry groups serve no purpose other than the dream of ruling through violent methods, and they certainly lack the ability to govern an entire country.

"Naam badalne se kartoot nahi badaltay" – It appears these individuals believe that by simply changing their name they can distance themselves from their past actions. The truth is, changing your name and not your actions does not make a difference. Continuing to preach hatred and violence will not get them the support they desire and need. They are already feeling the wrath of the Pakistani military and, hopefully, they will soon become irrelevant.

there is no split in the eye of the enemy
they still condier Pakistan army and its people as its enemy number one and a justifiable target

TTP had a number of little organisations under its umbrella since its inception
they all share the common hatred for shrines and minority communities and army and general public of Pakistan

It is only a matter of time they hook up with ISIS. Then things will head south rapidly.

i agree they always had little organizations under their umbrella
but their strength was their unity
we never witness infighting between them before
and dont forget this group spil due to differences with the main leader ship of ttp
they are weakest of all time at the moment.
best chance for us to destroy them before they reconcile their difference

There are some 32 militants killed in the operation today as per Dawn news

Please these spare us these nuggets of speculative knowledge.

Sir, I think chances are high that in future these terrorist outfits might get some inspiration from ISIS

they just cant wait for that. recall the statements of their "mainstream" allies like former Jamat Islami Amir who sees all these Jihadis across the globe as the purest and truest representation of Islam.

the reason for delay in Pakistan is Armed forces of Pakistan. the day their morale ise broken down and they are divided ethnically and on sectarian bases then all bets are off

Inspiration maybe, if they have the time. Hookup, coordinate with them? Not gonna happen.
