PESHAWAR: Proscribed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) spokesman on Thursday criticized young education activist Malala Yousufzai and said she was given Noble Peace Prize for ‘promoting western culture and not the education’.

According to a statement issued here, Mohammad Khurasani, the spokesman for Mullah Fazlullah-led faction of outlawed TTP, said Malala’s father, Ziauddin set her daughter against the religion and Islamic Society after which resources were abundantly spent on promoting the teenager.

He claimed that Malala Yousufzai along with her father, Ziauddin, had entered into an agreement with ‘western satanic forces’ to destroy Pakistan and Pakhtun society.

Mohammad Khursani declared the existing democratic system worse than worst systems ever witnessed by the world, adding the existing system is actually responsible for all the worries and anxieties today’s human beings find themselves in.

unfortunately this view of TTP is shared by overwhelming number of pakistanis. this is also an issue on which supporters of all political parties in pakistan can agree on, in fact it has already happened on my facebook timeline, where both pmln and pti activists have come together to bash malala. it is disheartening to say the least.
