If we follow TTP and other militants from 2001 who are anti Pakistani, their messages have always been that Pakistani army and people are mushrikeen and kufar, this is why their jihad is legitimate. I've seen many videos in Pushtun with the wording "kufar, mushrikeen faoj Pakistan". People need to understand their is no such thing as jihad Akbar against fellow Muslims, unless you declare them as non Muslims(for defending) So militants sell it to their foot soldiers that we are fighting against shirk. Its a pretty strong slogan.

Our establishement on the other hand completely failed to deal with this, after 20 years they still have not managed to find a counter narrative to deal with this, we had the anti ttp lashkars, we have anti ttp militia who fought against ttp but guess what, it was declared as terrorist organisation by the Pakistani government, the anti ttp lashkars were abandoned, Why? Who made that decision? They only fought against ttp to defend themselves? Who is the establishment scared of? I can gurantee their are many facilitators in the higher ups who support these militants, who make excuses for them, only General Raheel Sharif gave a danda to them and nobody offered him extention even after the amount of work he did for Pakistan.

IK recently said that corruption doesn't matter to them (establishment) that is why SS is in power. It ocurred to me as Areesh kept saying that its Bajwa remiss. They may not care about foot soldiers and consider losses as part of game. I don't think Bajwa is incompetent or we lack equipment but in his equation few losses every month to thrawt major TTP attack is fine.

Issue is lack of trying..brass isnt even trying to minimize losses, it seems it doesn't matter to them

Just wondering could the recent spate of attacks be also seen as diversionary tactics specially with all the heat and focus on domestic politics and the corrupt institutions?

I always wonder is it possible that they deliberately want things to keep on simmering in the northern Tribal areas and Balochistan. I mean how is it possible that they haven't been able to neutralize this TTP, BLA, BRA etc once and for all? Or have them become neutral in this matter too that they don't provide the jawans with much needed equipment like MRAPs and drone coverage.

That's like giving the rest of the country away willingly to TTP, their goal is to literally capture it and establish their rule.

This is lazy. It was not just asking TTP to spare Punjab, it was also making it very tough to target Punjab. Attacks still happened, but there were higher costs associated with those.

You may not remember, but the last major attack in Punjab was the bomb blast at Charing Cross that killed a number of police officers who were trying to defuse a rally by Pharmacists. Police sued the Safe-City system cameras to trace the facilitators, including the one who guided the suicide bomber to the target. The facilitator had a shop in Landa Bazar. Most of the Pashtuns (I suppose particularly those belonging to FATA) working in the Landa Bazar were also rounded up by police for questioning. The same week, the facilitator had been killed in an encounter. There may have been other reprisals too, but that was the last terrorist attack.

So, before you delve in crude analysis, be sure to contextualize the situation. SS was responsible for Punjab & he did a good job in protecting what he was responsible for. You hold it against him due to your politics, not because of his actual performance. Also, you do not realize this, but Punjab & Karachi are the twin engines of the economy. Pakistan was able to sustain the war of terror precisely because the economic engines kept chugging along despite everything.
