One of President-elect Donald Trump's most divisive promises ─ to ban Muslims from entering America ─ disappeared from his campaign website before reappearing on Thursday.

Trump's campaign staff told US media that text of the pledge, posted in December following terror attacks in San Bernardino, California, vanished because of a technical glitch.

It reappeared after journalists questioned the disappearance.

"The website was temporarily redirecting all specific press release pages to the homepage. It is currently being addressed and will be fixed shortly," the campaign said in a statement.

Trump said in December that Muslim immigrants pose the United States a security threat and called for "a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States until our country's representatives can figure out what the hell is going on."

It was one of a number of his statements ─ including a pledge to build a wall on the Mexican border and criticism of women who accused him of sexual harassment ─ that prompted the greatest backlash against his campaign, with accusations of xenophobia.

Later, he shifted to say immigration should be suspended from any country "that has been compromised by terrorism."

His stance apparently helped win him the presidency with the support of a majority of white, working-class voters.

He wants to make it even more strict and harder, not banning Muslim Immigration. You need to really listen to details before going out and fear mongering, and end up making a foll of yourself.

Sure, these media sources are just lying.

Trump wants to ban all Muslims from entering the US. He said this very clearly during his election campaign. In fact, he announced it officially. Don't deny it.

Events such as 9/11 and mass-shootings from disgruntled Muslims, gave rise to this sentiment. We cannot fault them for it, can we?

However, Trump should revisit this proposed-policy and American Muslims should play a role in it.

I do not think Trump has anything against Muslims in particular. But like the trend seen all over the world, in Europe, the UK, and now the US, there is a growing sentiment against what are considered to be "outsiders." That could be either by color, race, religion, language, region, or nation. If America decides to go "white" then this election has proven that there is still very little that anyone anywhere in the world can do about it. Americans included. Be they white or of color, Christian or heathen.

I don't want to enter a debate as for who started the conflict because no one will win. We know how the US has waged illegal wars and supported Jihadists during the Cold War over the years. It is a two way street.

As for the ban, let's call a spade a spade. He announced the ban with much fanfare and media attention. It was almost like a decree and an official announcement. He needs to deliver. A vast amount of his supporters voted for him because they want to see a ban on Muslims entering the US. He cannot just flip flop now. What difference will there be between Trump and a deceiving politician who says one thing during election time and does another afterwards?

It could be a two-way street.

However, media sources are notorious for misinterpreting matters. This trend is global, unfortunately.

Trump proposed a "temporary" ban for Muslim immigration until he finalizes his immigration vetting plans. Media is misreporting it. It is certainly a controversial proposal but it is just a proposal at the moment.

Remember one thing: Trump might be the most powerful man in the world right now but there is no such thing as one-man-show in the US. Trump will seek advice from his Republican support base for a large number of issues. The leaving President will also coach him until he leaves the office. This is customary in the US.

So too early to tell what will happen.

In other words, he has made a promise he cannot fulfill? A loose cannon? Someone who speaks without first giving things a thought? If that is the kind of president Trump is many people are right in their protest. It is also customary to keep your word after making big promises.

Who said that he could fulfill every promise he made? Even if he delivers on 70% of his promises, it would be a huge success story.

He could be a loose-cannon on some issues but American public did not elect him for his stance towards Muslims; they elected him for understanding their core problems.

So he can get votes, reality has already been proven that it's not really happening that way. But go ahead and keep fear mongering.

*Terror-prone regions where vetting cannot safely occur.*

Hmm, so unless all Muslim nations are terror-prone and vetting cannot safely occur, then you would be correct, but you're not.

That's right, not all Muslim regions are terror-prone, and not all terror-prone regions are Muslim.

Well, this is kind of a big promise he made in front of the whole world.

According to you, I'm the one who is fear mongering when Trump proposed the ban and his supporters cheered his vile intentions? Nice one!

Don't twist my words and stop defending a liar like Trump. He cannot fulfill his promise. It is as simple as that. He lied during the election campaign.

LOL at terror-prone regions. Which region isn't terror prone nowadays?
