why should the US pay for Germany's defense? And then see the Germans buy Russian gas? Even if Germany didn't - why should the US protect Germany for free? Does anyone think deploying 35,000 troops to another continent is cheap?

The biggest problem for Germany seems to be in the Baltic Sea, but with Nord Stream 2 coming the Russians will keep silent. I don't think Germany will lose sleep over the downsizing of USA forces.

I don't see eiropeans fighting wars in europe for past 80 years.

That's because 60,000 American troops are deployed all over Europe since World War 2 (and later from the end of Cold War) to make sure Europeans don't bicker and fight with each other over territorial issues.

American troops are permanently stationed in European countries such as the UK, Germany, Italy, Spain, Poland and six other countries... along with US nuclear weapons.

Any European country that messes about like Serbia, gets pummelled by the US.
