SHANNON, Ireland (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump threatened to hit China with "at least" another $300 billion of tariffs but said he thought both China and Mexico wanted to make deals in their trade disputes with the United States.

"Our talks with China, a lot of interesting things are happening. We'll see what happens... I could go up another at least $300 billion and I'll do that at the right time," Trump told reporters on Thursday, without specifying which goods could be impacted.

"But I think China wants to make a deal and I think Mexico wants to make a deal badly," said Trump before boarding Air Force One at the Irish airport of Shannon on his way to France for a D-Day commemoration.

What lying? Till now he has largely delivered on what he threatened you with. He has imposed 25% tariff on around 250 bn dollar worth of exports. And he has banned Huawei, which will either be a death sentence, or lead to big drop in Huawei's sales and curtailment of its products.

It is China that keeps threatening, without taking any actual action.

Rare Earths? Only threat, no action.

Unreliable entity list? Threat, no action.

Tariffs? Threat, only 10% action

There are many internal leaks which state that China wants to continue the negotiations. They even want to upgrade the negotiator directly to Wang Qishan.

Also, even the last time around, China negotiated while the tariffs were ON!

China's retaliation is becoming well organized and multi-dimensional, there will be no deal.Trump can no longer fool anyone at this point.

the downfall of America can happen a lot sooner than many people expect. Who knows what desperate moves they will do...I think there could be a 20% chance the whole thing will end in a nuclear exchange.. give or take
