Can't do anything. East has nothing to offer Turkey. End of day they have to listen West for economic prosperity. They all trade in the West. It will take ages for them to setup trade network in the East and neighboring countries. First they need fully stable Syria. Which is big headache and sucking there resources . Raising Kurd factor in Syria is another bigger political issue. They are dealing similar situation what Pakistan is dealing after Afghan war.Wondering what can Turkey do to really piss USA off???
One is banning burqa in all aspect of life except own home other used to ban headscarves in Universities and Public jobs.I really don't think it is the same thing.
How many woman are spared being forced to wear the burqa because of that law ?
Wondering what can Turkey do to really piss USA off???
All Turkey needs to do is stand firm and not blink first. The USA has a history of backing down and retreating when going gets really tough.
Christian evangelists are often a front for extra-judicial activities. When they get caught, they scream religious persecution.I think you missed the chain of events.
It is turkey that put An american civilian on a mock trial and now hold him hostage. Do you think US is going to stop demanding his release if Turkey as you put it " stand firm " ?
Also , Turkey has agreed to release him if Israel released a Turkish citizens . Yet after he was released , it seemed that that they tried to be " smart " and instead of releasing him to to states , they released him from prison to house arrest.
I wonder if someone here can explain to me how this exchange deal unfolded ?
Erdogan is running things with his ego as guide, instead of the well being of his people. He wishes to make himself appear tough in the eyes of his people and the people of the region as if standing up to the US.
While doing so he exposes the faulty way in which his courts are judging people and shames turkey as a country that is caprizic in relations to their friends and uses mafia style behavior of holding people hostage for ransom.

JEWS agenda against Turkey has become clear now after destruction of Syrian country now the Jews minds are trying to destabilize Turkey / Iran
Pakistan always stands with Turkey
India has much more than what you could even imagine. India holds the key to stability of middle east and petrodollars. If India ever shows its muscles, there will be bigger refugee crisis in middle east. You should be packing your bags from Bangladesh to live in Saudi desert. The restraint India is showing despite regular provocation is what India holds as key. Turkey, on the other hand, is provoking.
Bangladesh is also highly mother fucking provocative country. If not for Hasina who is behaving well, things would have been very different. If Hasina ges, Bangladesh will be a wasteland.
Lol, just what SCO need, another roaming snakeeither ERDOGAN step down or join SCO, no other way left.
Well , taking a US citizen , who also happen to be evangelical priest , hostage , which happen to belong to trump's hard core support base , was not the best of moves
it's because Turkey need tons of dollar to pay her foreign debt, so if The FED raise interest rate ( they will ) investor will pull their dollar out from turkey, then Turkey Central Bank need to raise interest rate to keep dollar in the country.Ok few questions ( to the people believing erdogan f**ked the economy )
Why Israel's central bank interest rate is 0.1% not just this year but nearly every year since it was created yet
All the west powers are urging turkey's central bank to raise the rate to 23% ?
Why the lira plummeted to a record low despite 1) lowest unemployment 2) record high exports 3) growing def and other industry independence 4) recovered tourism after the coup
Finally if there is an economic meltdown where are the factories / companies which being reported closed and bankrupt
The main disruptence is in lira and the price increase that comes as a consequence of its plunge
About inflation didn't it peak just after the central bank 500 points rise just saying
Edit: I love numbers and facts and here is one for you :-
Turkish state banks ( owned by state ) reported a 2 billion dollar profit in the first half
