As the US behavior continues to be a net negative on the middle east as a whole and Iraq in particular, with this threat of sanctions being yet another example of such behavior, we can only hope China moves from its inward looking policy into a more active role in this part of the world which is not too far from its borders, if not for stability then atleast for the protection of its interests... Iraq signed a large contract with China that is threatened by US interventions.

I hope Iran switches policies from sectarian proxies to forming coalitions with Sunnis. We need unity right now, not divisiveness. Thanks to Iran's failed policy (and US meddling) in Syria and Iraq, sectarian tensions are at an all time high. We need to step back and re-examine our next steps.

I hope someone brave in Iran takes this moment to examine the mistakes made by Gen Sulemani type of sectarian holy warriors and realize that Iran cannot survive without the support of its Sunni neighbors, notably Pakistan, Turkey, Afghanistan, and Sunnis of Iraq/Syria.
