Listen to them, make certain adjustments in the Afghan policy without giving up on the core interests and let things move on. The issue here is that nobody wants to lose. Pakistan has to delicately maneuver around this by letting Americans win some but keep our long term interests intact as well. I do not see this as a zero sum game.

Pakistan will make sure that in any war scenario with US. We wud thrown India back to stone age and Israel wud live in the history. That should be our policy. Atleast we can give a walkover to China and destroys USA in this game plan. Pakistan would become Afghanistan after the war but then permanently solve the middle east crisis after removing Israel. Right so Trump is dispatching some tough talking folks, they don't seem to be making much of a dent with regards to the Korean peninsula.
Anyway, it is time for Pakistan to ditch much of what is related to Afghanistan, it's a headache beyond belief. Keep things cordial with the Afghan Taliban, offer to negotiate etc and build that border up. Leave them be, at least then the boogey man of Pakistan can't be drawn out over and over again. Pakistan should also seek a solution with Chinese and Russian help.

Like Retrd Gen Ahsan Ex chief of ISI said, when US want cooperation from Pakistan, they use threatening language. And its not new. But, behind the close door they ask for cooperation to resolve the regional issues.
