Trump Issues Reckless, Anti-Muslim Statement Following Berlin Truck Attack

It's been a liberal bastion for a very long time, he was never going to have a chance there, spl given the demographics but why would they have a tough time ?

He's spoken about stopping funding for sanctuary cities (they don't go after illegal immigrants), that's about all I can think off.

@LA se Karachi might have some to add.

You're correct. Nothing much will change. We are affected far more by our state government than the federal government. The same is true about every state. The governor is a Democrat, and Democrats now have a "super-majority" in both chambers of the legislature.

Trump, however, will of course have a huge impact on the federal government, foreign policy, economic policy, etc.

And Hillary Clinton would have won the electoral vote if it wasn't for Texas, Florida, and Alabama. We can play these games forever.

Enough of this nonsense, please. Evey state in America is a part of the country. Hillary received the most votes in the election, and Trump received the most electoral votes. Let's accept this and move on.

The only benefit may be that my taxes will go down. However, everything else is gonna pretty much suck. Sheldon Adelson gave at least 25 million to his campaign. You better believe he wants return on his investment.

Honestly, I really don't care about it, Trump won and that's that but I thought Newt made a good point here.

why is there this perception ?
A Trump - Putin alliance will make life very difficult for extremist terror groups like FSA, ISIS, taliban etc, why would regular people be affected ?
Every Muslim is not terrorist but Look unrest in Pakistan, turkey, Syria, Afghanistan, Yemen, Iraq, Libya, Egypt, Sudan & Iran & others, perception is already built about intolerance , extremism ,violence and sectarianism. You are right , this will effect regular people too.

On the contrary what I see worldwide is remarkable restraint and people going out of their way to make Muslims in general feel comfortable and welcome and not at fault. Barring stray incidents of hooliganism and vandalism and hate crimes, on a global level, do you ever see something similar happening when hundreds of thousands of Muslim refugees were allowed into Europe if there was really a widespread generic non-selective suspicion and dislike towards Muslims in general? I believe normal Muslim common folk have also done a lot to help their cause by not supporting the Jihadist elements and in fact coming out in the open and clearly denouncing them at a community level. That has helped greatly in their friends and neighbors from other faiths feeling they are all in this together. I agree Muslims are still a minority in most non Muslim countries. But look at India? 180+ million Muslims. Yes, it would not be incorrect in today's world to say that every terrorist was most likely going to prove to be a Muslim. Maybe even a Pakistani Muslim or one with some connection to Pakistan. Which is sad. But the recognition is strong that there are 1.6 billion Muslims in the world today and most of them are not terrorists. There is also a healthy fear just under the surface though of not pushing those 1.6 billion Muslims into becoming terrorists. Which I guess does no harm to the levels of tolerance seen worldwide. This is what I believe.

Mr. Trump's statement seems above board - he has expressed condolences for victims and promised to act against ISIS and other Islamic fundamentalist groups. I can't see anything against the 1.6 billion Muslims in this statement. If the author thinks Trump's statement is on 1.6 billion muslims, then I think the author and those who buy his view are the ones who are calling 1.6 billion muslims terrorists, not Trump.

On another note, we keep reading about Pakistanis wanting unchecked migration from Afghanistan controlled, because they feel it has helped terrorists. Trump has in the past spoken of checking migration from places where there is a major terror problem, till 'they' can figure out what's going on. I don't see much of a difference in the two sentiments. The unfortunate and politically incorrect reality of our world is that a very large number of terror attacks are carried out by people of Islamic faith, and till a government can figure out a way to separate victims from terrorists, it is justified in stopping immigration - its first priority is to protect its citizens.

I'm not sure I follow. Yes, there is unrest and strife in those locations, some more than other, but my point was that a US - Russian alliance can bring stability to those areas, better they work together in Syria as opposed to fighting a proxy war on opposite sides, right ?

At most some former US "allies" such as jihadist groups in Syria will be thrown under the bus and order restored, it's an oversimplification, I know, but just to draw a picture of what I'd call a perfect scenario if they actually team up.

I don't see how this would be bad for muslims, care to explain ?

. . .
Another Muslim playing the victim card.
Learn English, before You start to make comments.

The Trump statement can be divided in two parts

  1. Our hearts and prayers are with the loved ones of the victims of today’s horrifying terror attack in Berlin. Innocent civilians were murdered in the streets as they prepared to celebrate the Christmas holiday.
  2. ISIS and other Islamist terrorists continually slaughter Christians in their communities and places of worship as part of their global jihad. These terrorists and their regional and worldwide networks must be eradicated from the face of the earth, a mission we will carry out with all freedom-loving partners.
Part 1 gives condoleances to the victim.

Part 2 states his position on terrorists which happens to believe they are Muslims.
The second statement does not claim that Muslim terrorist are to blame for the attack.
That is also in no way implying that all Muslims are to blame for "Muslims" performing terrorist acts.

By putting both statements together, Trump acknowledges that the attack follows a pattern
of previous attacks proven to be done by Islamist terrorists.

You, on the other hand, is a war monger inciting a war between religions.

I find my English to be adequate its you who needs to learn manners on how to debate with adults without throwing childish tantrums

This statement is not particularly anti muslim. However his past statements and the proposed ban on muslim immigration are. Look up his past body of work. Any its not muslims playing the victim card.

I will be the first to condemn violence committed by Muslims. However no one cried about the thousands of iraqis maimed or killed by the US invasion in the last decade. An illegal war of shock and awe. That is just one example.
What he is being blamed for has been US policy for decades he is not doing anything new he is just making it public and not sugar-coating it

Trump may not be knowledgable about facts, but i actually think he is very intelligent. He played the American people, the Republican party, and the media like a fiddle and pulled off the unimaginable. The thing that is dangerous about him is i think he really doesnt care about ethical positions regarding policy. He is a pragmatist not an idealogue as Obama has noted. Meaning he doesnt have priniciples or goals. He just wants to be popular and get things done. Unfortuantely the people that have funded his campaign do have goals and agendas. And you can be assured its not good for the Muslims of the world.

Yes Trump has killed the political correctness dragon and unleashed this:

Also known as overt RACISM
What a disgusting steaming pile of shyte that woman is.

It is not adequate to understand Trump's statements, which studies show are about the same level as a fourth grade kid.

Lets see when a man who called for banning Muslims makes an anti Muslim statement you cant even have a negative view of his statement is that what you are saying?

Anywho you should check authors of articles before posting bs

Fair enough. And btw Trump does not have a mandate of any kind. The US population is bitterly divided. And Trump lost the popular vote.
And yet, the moment Mr. Trump takes the oath of office, he will be chief executive with the greatest amount of Republican Party control of any GOP president in many, many decades. The presidency, control of Congress with the largest GOP majority since the 1920's, most state governorships, most state legislatures, etc. The GOP has not held this much political power in the country, since the 19th century.

.
Yes you are correct. It should concern you however that the executive is a man who as good as he is at reading people, doesn't understand the implications of his actions. Furthermore his cabinet and advisers chosen will formulate policy driven by the specific interests of his campaign donors and not for the common good of the American people. Your right at this point, Trump has carte blache. You think George W Bush and the neocons were bad with their arrogant and destructive meddling in the Middle East, just wait till you see what Trump and his crew have in store for the world.

And btw the real winner in all this is Israel and hawkish pro-Israeli individuals in the world.

Not the American people.
