My question to you is...what do you think went wrong that a country that was supplying you the best of tech in 1970s like steel mills and many other...turned into your sworn enemy in 1980s?... If Russia wanted an access to the hot waters, why could we not provide Russia a route like CPEC and benefit from the trade?

shia-sunni conflict were-is-will stay as it is... We do not need our "enemies" to do so... THe 95% of the time... in our history...peace was around...when one of them took control of the other...whatever it's shia or Sunni...

The Difference with back then... is that being ruled by an alawite/shia regime wasn't really a problem... Why? Well it's simple ...the difference wasn't that profound btw sunni and shia... (in religious speaking) the true "abyssal" difference and change occured in those few later centuries... Where neither of them could be a legitimate ruler of the other...

In the End... that conflict will be either mass convertion in one side--total anniliahtion- or some sort of " do not hurt me-Do not touch me- adn peace will prevail"... But it's not the case today and not that soon...

Hey it takes two hands to make a clap. Iran is not an angel either. Iran's interventions in Iraq and Syria have fueled the recent chaos in middle-east. Though I agree with you what you said about KSA but now we need to find an amicable solution. After all, people have been living with each other despite the differences.
